PS - Some very good news: Sparrow Hall is due for a lengthy scene in Chapter 12! This will be her first direct taste of tickling distress, and I plan that it should foreshadow your own cameo appearance (3 or so chapters from now). I have the details for this latter pretty well worked out now, and will PM you for your thoughts and official approval when the scene is imminent.

Your attention to tickling torture detail is amazing. I really like your dipictions with the dark shady characters as they seem hell bent on breaking Mercy. But somehow she is a normal young woman with a strong will yet not some sort of super herione, sort of an intelligent everywoman.

Hi Brian! Thanks so much for taking the time to plow through this (admittedly) rather involved, twisty story and for sending your encouragement! I'm very pleased when I read your comments: you've taken great care to analyze the text and have hit on themes which I'd hoped readers would find important! The fetish elements of the story do tend to play second fiddle to the developing drama; yet when such instances occur, it's my hope that a detailed context (a deeper understanding of the players and the stakes involved) will lend them impact! And you're entirely right: it's vital to me that Mercy be defined by her quirks and flaws as well as by her strengths. She'd hardly be a well-rounded personality without character obstacles to overcome or trip her up! I'm very pleased that the dark nature of the antagonists (and a few of the protagonists, too) appeals to you! I've been fond of horror literature my whole life, and I'm sure this has influenced my preference for horrific, threatening bad guys. It's most heartening to me that others share this enthusiasm, as the plot will grow far darker before events improve! This series has a long way to go before completion; I hope you'll find succeeding chapters just as enjoyable as the ones you're reading now! My thanks once again for your kind compliments!
