The Low Roads, Chapter 13 (*/F, navel; */F, feet).

Angie's training... It's enough to make a girl wanna run away from home and join the circus. 😉 Another great chapter in the continuing epic. I was hoping we'd get the next chapter about now. 😀
Thanks so much, Sammi! Spot on, as always... "running away to join the circus" perfectly expresses the sort of giddy frission I wanted for Angie's portion of the adventure! Young lady, away from home for the first time, plunked into garish, exciting surroundings and company, and subjected to sensual extremis... a seductive setting in which the senses could easily overload and attitudes alter! Her education with the Feare's will have a lasting impact on her confidence and competence... how much so, I've yet to determine. But there's plenty of time to work that out!

Heh, just when it looked like Mercy was gonna figure out her dreamscape, she winds up taking it home with her. Although, the implications of taking dreamstuff to the waking world could be quite serious. Especially considering some of the creatures that inhabit it. I'll be on the edge of my seat until chapter 14, that's for sure.
Very kind of you! I'll do my very best to deliver it in timely fashion! You're entirely right about the persistence of dream matter in the temporal world... it'll be critically important, especially for Mercy. I'll take great pains to detail its uses, limitations and dangers in subsequent chapters. It'll become a major theme, in fact!

Had to say it. The LBH moon in Dreamtime really reminded me of the moon from Majora's Mask. n_n;;
Yeah, I sure see what you mean! (below) Thanks for the tip... my Zelda experience was rather limited after the Super Nintendo became obsolete... only the Gameboy titles for reference, and none of them offered images this startling!

All this mystic plot mixed with lovely tickling scenes really makes me anxious whenever I enter the Tickling Art section and see another chapter of Low Roads among the threads! Again, thumbs waaaaaaay up for ya, LBH! Keep it up!

All of us dream and many of us have had lucid dreams. Maybe that's what's so appealing about Dreamtime. It's fantastic yet familiar. The idea of lucid, direct mental control over reality implies ultimate control of our fate and that stirs something primal. More than just a willful suspension of disbelief, we have a willing desire to believe in Dreamtime, especially now that it is seeping into Low Road's reality. I suppose it's also a metaphor for creative writing, bringing ideas into a kind of reality.

Now that I have changed jobs, I have more free time to indulge in luxuries like TT and especially Low Roads.

As always, I enjoy reading the commentary and your responses. It's an instructive view into the creative process and the planning behind the scenes.

Lovin this story, the characters, there look, there attitude and there perils.........Brillaint piece of writing!!!!!! carry on!!!!

That's most kind of you, Featherhead! Thanks so much for noting the blend of fantasy with fetish material... fantastic subject matter draws me naturally, but it's been particularly fun to combine it with tickling themes! Liberating, too... I've never written nearly so much female-oriented dialogue before, and satisfaction-wise it beats the stuffing out of my characters' usual macho posturing! Hope it's also proved pleasing to read... I've got four or so more years of this stuff to produce!

Wonderful to hear from you again, Leenotler! You're always so generous with commentary, and you always give the story's themes so much careful consideration! I confess I haven't crystalized my own thoughts about Dreamtime with the completeness you have; primarily, it seemed like a really hip alternate setting (as though Tabor County wasn't weird enough! XD) Your logical arguments are quite stimulating: Mercy (others too, but primarily Mercy at this point) is indeed seeking control in a setting best recognized for unconscious, non-willful plasticity. It offers benefits that few can access, and which none can approach without cost (the loss of unconscious sleep is akin to a loss of innocence). For her, to willfully romp through Dreamtime is to take personal responsibility, something she's avoided most of her life. It's an exercise that matures her, special motives notwithstanding.

I like your view about Dreamtime being a metaphor for creative writing, too (any sort of endeavor that begins with a concept, actually)! It wasn't anything I'd thought about, but seems inescapable when phrased that way!

Now that I have changed jobs, I have more free time to indulge in luxuries like TT and especially Low Roads.
Delighted to learn you're schedule has eased up a bit! I know how gruelingly busy you've been in the past... work effort may be essential, it seemed as though you rarely had time for anything else!

As always, I enjoy reading the commentary and your responses. It's an instructive view into the creative process and the planning behind the scenes.
Very kind of you to say so! I take special pains about responses, primarily because it seems like good manners. If the commentary provides insight and entertainment, all the more reason to be thorough!

Lovin this story, the characters, there look, there attitude and there perils.........Brillaint piece of writing!!!!!! carry on!!!!
Thanks so much for the rousing encouragement, Ticklefree! I couldn't be more pleased that so many aspects of the series work for you! Such response keeps my own enthusiasm sky high!

Gotta watch myself, or it's all toes all the time!
Well, I'm not complaining! 😀 😉

No really, this is yet another thrilling chapter to save on my hard drive. Yet again it is filled with all kind of awesome visuals; of which the moon transforming into the Little Big Head's face, and the scene matching the forest with the sun above, struck me the most, as it clearly shows your knowledge of cinematographic techniques. This is a transition one would expect in an animated feature film. But then again, I recall you have some experience with tv-broadcasting (from your spectacles of doom series) so your animation-like storytelling style is not that hard to explain. 🙂

I had to check back to the earlier chapter to refresh my memory about the tickling demon/deity in the dreamscape... it's a while ago (and your series has become epicly big). A very unusual "friend" Mercy has found... I'm curious how this will develop, more so since the LBH himself is returning to the scene (haven't seen him for a while).
The whole armor scene was something I really enjoyed, especially the visuals (I totally love uneartly gooey substances combined with fetish scenes). I wonder how Mercy's going to talk herself out of this, being stuck back in reality while still wearing the armour. Is it even possible to remove it?

At the same time, Fiona Feare has a hidden agenda. It has to be... Somehow I'm getting the feeling Angie's going to be in much deeper trouble than she could imagine...
Not that I'm complaining as a viewer, of course; if this means more ticklish action, then all the better!! :super_hap

Thank you very much for creating yet another great chapter of your series and sharing it with us! 🙂 🙂

Howdid I ever miss this?!?!

I am intrigued by what is happening with Mercy now. Going into battle no doubt. The pink elephant as an inconsequential god? That revered part, played by numerous ethereal creatures which later are become demons if they so desire? My goodness. I am intrigued.

Machiavelle is there! If not for a moment. I am so loving your intetrpretation of her Littlebighead. You got her down right to the scar, and the tail. Although the scar never glowed, I don't argue with the addition of the azure glow. I think I will make that part of her physique! Thank you Littlebighead.

I still don't know how I missed this.

Oh my dear gawd this is so good.

I don't evenn know what to say it's that good.

The writing seems to have gotten even better than previous episodes, which seems impossible.... but somehow it has happened.

And I love love love love the belly button tickling and the entire scene in which it takes place.

So wonderful.

You, sir, are a master.

*humbly takes a knee*

Thanks once again for such voluminous praise, Scav! It's always greatest cause for excitement when I see you've responded!

I deeply appreciate your kind words about the artwork! It's most gratifying that you note the attempts at cinematic fluidity and transition! I've always loved movies... at one time I seriously considered cinema as a career path. I've made a small handful of Super-8 films, a format now long abandoned; and, as you rightly remember, partook in some public-access TV. Videotape's on it's way out too... every format I become involved with seems to go belly-up (watch out internet!) The thing I like best about graphic art presentation is the large measure of control: one isn't dependent on actors, production equipment or the vagaries of weather; as long as an artist has the personal where-with-all to do the job, there's nothing he can imagine that he can't produce. The TTC bursts with examples that prove this point!

I had to check back to the earlier chapter to refresh my memory about the tickling demon/deity in the dreamscape... it's a while ago (and your series has become epicly big). Yeah, I really do need to get Little Big Head back into the story! He's a main player, though you'd never know it by his recent lack of participation! The pink astral entity (I don't have a name for him yet... that'll have to change as he becomes more fully involved) was initially slated for only the single chapter. His design grew on me, though, something that happens often... one-shot or even background characters frequently use their appearances as auditions. Sorry he proved hard to find! I know how tangled things have gotten... if I'd been smart, I'd have seen to it all chapters ended up in a single thread, as Bandito's done with TIS.

The whole armor scene was something I really enjoyed, especially the visuals (I totally love uneartly gooey substances combined with fetish scenes). I wonder how Mercy's going to talk herself out of this, being stuck back in reality while still wearing the armour. Is it even possible to remove it?
Very happy to hear that the "engulfing" scene worked so well for you; you are, in fact, justly famed for your gloriously form-fitting, webby restraint cocoons, so you thoroughly know whereof you speak! Mercy's current dilemma will ultimately serve to illustrate the properties of Dreamtime matter in the temporal world: good as well as bad... your speculation about removing it is prescient, as you'll see!

At the same time, Fiona Feare has a hidden agenda. It has to be... Somehow I'm getting the feeling Angie's going to be in much deeper trouble than she could imagine...
Not that I'm complaining as a viewer, of course; if this means more ticklish action, then all the better!! :super_hap
Angie is indeed a bit at sea; at present, her freshly-awakened hunger for tickling has tied her to a situation in which she has little control and no real inkling of what the future will hold. Unlike Mercy, she's not terribly assertive... she's far more apt to be led by a strong personality, like the rabidly committed Fiona. It's most pleasing to me that Fiona comes across as a potential threat... I had hoped that her vagueness (coupled with the sensual attractions she purveys) would prove disquieting. Angie is, in fact, tripping through chancy territory; a very real crisis will be heading her way, and whether or not her "training" prepares her for it is yet to be seen. In the meantime, it serves as a ready excuse for fetish thrills!

Thank you very much for creating yet another great chapter of your series and sharing it with us! 🙂 🙂
My profoundest thanks to you, Scav! It's one of the nicest pleasures of this site that we're all able to share thoughts with an artist of your unique inventiveness and unparalleled skill! I'm most honored that you've always been so generous and specific with your compliments!

"Pink elephant!" Man, I like that! I'd never thought about him that way before (seems impossible because of the trunk)... now I won't be able to think about him any other way! The brain-worm invasion has commenced!

My pleasure indeed to be allowed to sketch your lady Machiavelle, J! Once again, thanks so much for your permission! She has a wonderfully clean design, blessed with unmistakable distinctiveness! I'm rather relieved you approve of the "glow"... my initial attempts at the scar appeared rather stark, so I improvised a bit until I had something that blended in better.

You're entirely right about battle-bound Mercy! She'll have lots or opportunity to try out her new protection, in both the dream sphere and the temporal one! Gods, demons, bogeys, spirit knights... the possibilities are legion, and I've barely begun to work them all out!

Oh my dear gawd this is so good.

Rats, Deet! You beat me to it! I wanted to take a knee to you first! How better to honor one with so much spectacular accomplishment to his credit! Your recent TIS is a genuine phenomenon! I can't ever remember a thread glorying in so much ongoing well-deserved praise! And the hit count! Soon to reach 100K and who knows how high after that! The stratosphere is too low a bar by far!

I don't do near enough belly tickling (happily, torso fans have a supreme champion in you), and it's most pleasant to have my few attempts memorialized so graciously! Like Scav, I'll never stray far from the soles (my heart's delight!), but this serves as vivid reminder to neglect no sensitive area!

My grateful thanks for your kind praise, sir! You light up this thread with your unselfish generosity! Just as you do the TTC generally!

I feel a little humbled by the sheer amount of work you've decided to unleash, LittleBigHead, and what madness it is. I really need to have another look to wrap my brain around proceedings. That demon is going to pop up in a nightmare a week from now, i know it.

Another wonderful, chapter!

Dreamtime is certainly an interesting world... and a weird one as well!

It's jade sky and pink cloudy terrain will certainly make any ruby slippered farm girl have feelings of "not being in Kansas any more"!

Even the lunar Little Big Head cannot diffuse the bizzare nature of this world found in only in REM Sleep!

The whimsical nature of the chapter doesn't seem to end there... the creature Burbeard is really enjoying his magenta sole food feast! A man of my own heart! Er... I mean.... an ass of my own heart...um... an ass of my heart's ass... an heart of my own ass... or... nevermind... I think you get it...

Mercy's face is so priceless when she discovers her armor has a flaw on page 15 upper right panel... and it's even better on the next page (16) in the same upper right panel! Even though we can't see the rest of her face, Mercy has the best laughing expression I've ever seen portrayed in the low roads series!

Wonderful!

Lovely work as usual...

and as usual I look forward to the next Chapter!

I wish I could say it won't happen! But nightmare territory is where he likes to hang out most!

Thanks so much for the wonderfully warming compliments, Kitchenaut! The way I work, I'm afraid it becomes necessary to present plenty of pages at once. My tickling-to-exposition ratio manages to be rather miserly when compared to other projects: your own Avian Oddity, for instance, in which every page luxuriates in the yumminess of glorious fetish goodness! The Low Roads tends to be rather austere and dire; tone-wise, it isn't terribly tolerant of the frivolity that makes tickling unalloyed fun. Fortunately for me, the TTC is a vast landscape, with plenty of room for every kind of approach!

A merry color-wheel of brightest praise, Bombers! My deepest appreciation! From someone who employs rainbow hues to such grand effect (Teeva's greenery must surely serve up the most delicious-looking soles in all Tickledom!), it delights me no end to be the beneficiary of such colorful (and pithy) compliments!

Actually, it's not hard to imagine Dorothy Gale (the more grown-up Judy Garland incarnation, at least) popping into any of the wonderful TTC worlds our contributors so lovingly provide... no way she'd stay in those ruby slippers long!

... the creature Burbeard is really enjoying his magenta sole food feast! A man of my own heart! Er... I mean.... an ass of my own heart...um... an ass of my heart's ass... an heart of my own ass... or... nevermind... I think you get it...
Well, he's getting it, at least (the dirty ol' goat!) Burbeard does indeed manage to be as ass in every way! Which makes him the perfect gourmand to taste Angie... the slightest shred of empathy would distract him from his appetite and compel him to ease off enough to let her breathe, something she definitely does not want in her reverie of sensory intoxication! Kindness in cruelty, the tricky symbiosis of sadism/masochism!

Mercy's face is so priceless when she discovers her armor has a flaw on page 15 upper right panel... and it's even better on the next page (16) in the same upper right panel! Thanks so much for your approval of those inky close-ups! They seemed like no-lose in concept form; I was rather less sure once they were finished, though. Being shorn of peripheral detail, they were certainly easy to draw (a major attraction)... plus, I figured the starkness would focus her reactions. I'm pleased as I can be that those panels worked well for you! Makes me very happy I took the chance!

Wonderful!

Lovely work as usual...

and as usual I look forward to the next Chapter!
My grateful thanks! I'll likely start work on the new script sometime next week... lord, it takes me so long to turn these out, I ought to be in constant motion!
