The Low Roads, Chapter 15 (MF/F, feet; ?/F, feet; assorted).

You could never be late, my most excellent Deet! Even if it were possible, your lyric eloquence, your graciousness and generosity are worth any wait! You ought never regret that you don't write like me... to write as you do (and to command those magnificent phrases and graphic fantasies that have captivated all loving Tickledom) is a quality that inspires our fondest aspirations! To create is great; to create with your patented blend of wickedly crafted wit, unashamed sensuality, unending energy, and the limitless joi de vivre of a soul living at full-throttle is a study in the way timeless legend is made! It's a lesson for us all: offer straight from your smiling heart with merriest cheer and a well-practiced appetite for life! In effect, love your prose and love its reader! Each cannot fail to return and magnify that love!

I have always been a fan of your ground breaking, earth shattering, epoch changing series, my friend. Even as far back as when I was but a boogey-like lurker bandito - hidden in shadow. But something about this chapter in particular truly resonated with me.

I didn't think you'd be able to top the delightful - naive teacher turned bar tickle wench scene from page ten. As it turns out the joke was on me, but with Sparrow doing all the laughing. Her scene has already established itself as among one of my very favorite tickle scenes that I have ever had the pleasure to witness.

The glory of Sparrow's scene isn't just the tickling itself, but the long anticipation, and her complicated emotional state before, during and after. I simply loved it.
Too kind of you! It gratifies me no end that you found each encounter entertaining! In absentia school mistress Tessie Tingle will remain tardy from Tabor classrooms at least a while longer. Her carnal education has barely crossed mid-term... whether she'll drop out of her formal responsibilities or return to polite society with randy lessons to impart (though only sums and grammar for her underage charges... I've studiously avoided such pitfalls, and don't intend to falter now!) is something I've yet to decide. Each path offers attractive possibilities!

Meanwhile, Sparrow Hall (flush with jangling input from her near-bogey run-in) has already made her pro-active choice. I couldn't be more grateful this encounter worked so well for you! While basically a side-trip featuring ancillary characters, I desperately wanted it to have impact. Sparrow's standing in for the bulk of common Tabor citizenry. Her sensual awakening is meant to represent the community's generally, prodded by renewed bogey influence into tactile exploration both threateningly risky and exhilaratingly rewarding. I'd always planned for her to take part in a few more scenes... a presence at key events near the story's climax. I can see now that her role should be broadened further still... allowing her to squirm with tormented pleasure has become so much fun to chronicle!

Deet, I can't thank you enough for your symphony of appreciation! It's been the sheerest delight to read and reread... a joyous council to exert my very best effort, if only to keep pace with the likes of your peerless self! Never underestimate your importance to the Community, my friend... our forums team with artists your selfless talents inspire! Your era of inclusive excellence has bound us all closer together than ever before!

Never had the chance to further comment, after the early sneak preview.
Again, loving this.

Thumbs up.

Thanks a ton, Kal! :super_hap The trouble with that preview was that it almost wasn't... one day doesn't provide any chance to build up anticipation! But I thank you then and now for your replies! It's great to have you back!

Looks like the foreshadowing is all but complete. Sid and his gold-bought cronies vs. the people in the fortress...with perhaps the other bogey legion wanting to stop Sid before he can seize control? All sorts of excellent pending twists have been set up in your inimitable style, LBH.

That reporter seems to be awakening into a full-fledged 'voluptuary,' if she's not careful, she'll get sucked right in rather than just reporting on the subject...

Very kind of you to say so, Hawk! A great pleasure to listen to your cagey speculation... it's just the sort of guesswork I'd hoped events would inspire!

Only a few more important pieces to set in place, which I'll take care next time (... I'd planned to keep this chapter more reasonable in length... some hope! I've gotten a good bite on the script, and the first scene's already 12 pages long!) Complete or not, Sid's attack is set in stone for Chapter 17. No force in Tabor County can stop that!

It's true! Sparrow's gotten way too close to her story! Her journalistic objectivity's flown straight out the window (as the Moon Knight's flown in through the window)... hard to imagine how she'll be able to write her articles now without bias. Her voluptuary tendencies are indeed strongly pronounced... a risky trait for someone so naturally inquisitive about bogeys and thrilled by tactile excess. Whether she can relegate tickling to a pastime rather than a full-blown obsession may depend on (1) how committed she still feels to her profession, and (2) how much satisfaction her newfound tickle-lover can provide. I'll be dealing with each consideration as the story continues.

Never left.
Just kept a lower profile.
Understood! "Accessible" or "active" would have been more accurate phrasing than "back".

Hmmmm... yeah, it does at that. How about: "returned from semi-retirement"? I'll keep plugging away till I get it right!

Wow. Thats all i can say about it! It is absolutely fantastic! I feel stupid, i completely missed the new chapter, and haven't read it until now>.<. But it's great! As always! Another well executed installment on the unfolding plot!

Can't wait till the next part!

Hey, thanks for the kind words and the nice bump-up, Bebob! No need to regret a late reply, as busy as you've been and as quickly as this forum's front page changes... I'm glad you finally got to see this chapter and am most grateful for the renewed visibility! Very pleased you enjoyed the proceedings! I'll do everything possible to have Chapter 16 ready sometime soon!

This is a long one, that's for sure! And I have a bone to pick with you, Mr. LBH. You keep making them more and more engrossing and then end without resolution! You're killing me here, killing me! In fact, I may already be dead!

A familiar sheep-gal appears! A most fine depiction of Relent's fuzzy-haired lady, most fine indeed! Sid's parasite has many skills it seems! Rather like the Drakh keeper that watched over the Regent first and Londo Mollari second in the later episodes of Babylon 5, although that one had no ability to grant strength. Who is this mistress spoken of, I wonder? I probably should remember, for it was likely spoken of before, but forgetful HDS cannot recall!

There's more to the Constable than meets the eye. So unfazed by what he sees with the good Knight and Miss Hall! Then again, this is a strange country, with even the Raven and company appearing astride rooftops! Any more and I'll have visions of chimney sweeps from Mary Poppins! And mysterious ninja-like fellows! And ominous tidings of trouble at the waterfall! You leave with too many cliffhangers! I am drowning in them! Drooooowning .... *Gurgle* Or am I drowning in the tardiness I myself made? Whatever it is, it's bad. :ggrin: Excellent chapter!

Heaven forfend! The last goal of any forum contribution should be to off the irreplaceable HDS! Believe me, it's waaayyy down on the priorities chart... my own death is listed well before yours!

This business about raising important dilemmas right before chapter's end is a damned mean habit, and one I seem unlikely to break any time soon! My sense of mischief always trumps my better, kinder nature... an unsettling notion, that the guy guiding the plot has a sympathetic connection to the villains! Mercy and her pals might consider surrender right now!

Very kind of you to say so! Fine treatment for a fine lady... Aye is a beautifully adaptive Community cutie who, luckily for me, takes to Tabor County culture with nary a hint of troublesome reconfiguring! If only all my own creations could behave so agreeably!

Sid's parasite has many skills it seems! Rather like the Drakh keeper that watched over the Regent first and Londo Mollari second in the later episodes of Babylon 5, although that one had no ability to grant strength.
That was too good not to look up! I saw the first season of Babylon 5, but managed to lose track of it thereafter. Happily, Wikipedia supplies the answer to just about every pop culture question! The Keepers sound an awful lot like an extrapolation of Robert Heinlein's puppet masters (even though they seem to be slaved to the Drakh themselves). While Klept is currently learning the up side of Sid-enhancement, such modification offers drawbacks as well as benefits. Everyone is gonna learn about both category soon enough!

Who is this mistress spoken of, I wonder? I probably should remember, for it was likely spoken of before, but forgetful HDS cannot recall!
Snide is referring to the Spinster, Mercy's first bogey contact and one of about a zillion characters we haven't seen in ages (he calls her "mistress" out of sycophantic deference). Once Sid's attack on Swillwell is out of the way, there'll be a scene to reestablish scads of long-neglected characters, many of whom are far from being ancillary! If I ever get a handle on a little thing called "plotting", this series might actually amount to something someday!

There's more to the Constable than meets the eye. So unfazed by what he sees with the good Knight and Miss Hall! Then again, this is a strange country, with even the Raven and company appearing astride rooftops! Any more and I'll have visions of chimney sweeps from Mary Poppins!
I was eager for TR and Yuri's cameo to be high profile and dramatic... Raven did such a lovely job with Sephie's cameo in his own Tickler Raven comic! As for Growler... well, he's a beat cop of long experience and no small understanding or empathy. He knows the rules intimately, but has seen enough not to be rattled or put off by the unusual... a perfect policeman for the fetish world, in fact!

Grateful thanks, both for all the pleasant compliments and for that uncannily credible impression of a drowning victim (... uh, I sure hope that's mimicry... maybe I better fetch a life preserver, just to be safe!) It's true, I confess... I revel in releasing hint after frustrating hint. I promise you, though: each is designed to pay off in an important revelation. Maybe next chapter... maybe five years from now. Stay tuned!

Lovely, lovely work my friend.

I find Jen and Mercy incredibly hot and feel inspired to draw them.

I'd love to think this could be made into an animated feature one day.

Thank you, Kitchenaut! Your praise is wonderfully gratifying! Please feel free to draw either girl anytime you care to, in any scenario that pleases you! Your superb talents complimented Jen to the max in your picture for Cheshire's S4-2 (Mercy looked mighty sweet as well, even in a supportive role!)... any day I can see more of the same will be a happy one for me! I likewise am most eager to have the Fox Sisters appear in a Low Roads chapter! I've just recently arrived at a scenario that I think will be fun and that should do them full justice, something involving the comic's dream realm (this would take place three or four chapters from now... I'll write you soon with thorough details to attain your input and approval).

I too would love to see this story animated! With massive pruning, it might actually work at feature length... no one thought LoTR could be successfully reduced, but that miracle is already cinema history! No way I could do it myself... I don't understand cartooning well enough, nor are my organizational skills sufficient to put together a competent team of people who do. It's fun to dream about, though! At my current rate of production, it'll probably take me another 6 years (conservatively) just to finish the blamed story! I'll worry about a feature adaptation after that!
