Huzzah on another awesome chapter! ^^ *likes seeing tough girls like persephone going into giggles*
Thanks Abadon! I so agree: tough gals present a challenge, and it's so rewarding when they submit and benefit from a fetish encounter! Sephie really needs to soften up and gain some human feeling... this may be a first step!
Another masterpiece cooked up by Chef LBH for our hungry minds and eyes to endulge in!
Bon appetit, my good Bombers! One feels obligated to stretch his culinary skills to satisfy a gourmet such as yourself!
The long development of this new chapter, is very well worth the wait!
... So sadden that it will be a long time before the next chapter will unfold, but yet, the thought of a new chapter coming always gives me comfort... 😉
Chapter 16 has indeed been overlong in coming... four months, as opposed to my usual two (two months being a long time as it is!) Part of this had to do with a reconfiguration of my production system; I'm well checked out on the changes now, and Chapter 17 shouldn't take nearly as long! It was just as well I had the down time... this last script took
forever to produce (I rewrote the opening scene about a dozen times!) 17 will depend more on action than verbiage, and should thus not prove nearly as taxing. Thanks very much for your confidence! I'll do my very best to offer up the newest chapter in good time!
Laughter is a great medicine. Von smutt, even with his rough exterior, can produce soft empathy for Persephone. The world may seem to be coming down on her, but i'm sure her "sole" feels a lot happier now!
I really like your medicine analogy! Sephie lives with a severely damaged psyche... intimate human contact (something she's fanatically denied herself) could easily provide an opening to heal. And you're quite right about Von Smutt... these two strong spirits, with their similar concerns, have a natural affinity for one another. He's realized this sooner than she has, but her own attraction (which has prompted her midnight visit) is no less potent.
Persephone is lovely as always... and the chair is wonderful. It would look great with Mercy on it as well... 😉
Thank you for the kind words about Sephie! Making girlish innocence seem appealing is rather easier than trying to do so with damaged middle age, and it's encouraging to know I haven't gone so far with Sephie's sternness that she's lost reader empathy.
I'm so glad you like the inflatable chair! I've always thought the bouncy nature of blow-up furniture playfully sensuous, and I'm glad I could convey some sense of that! It would indeed be fun to take Mercy on a similar ride... I'll have to come up with some excuse to get her onboard!
Angie, even in the midst of her voluptuary lust, still can't forget about her childhood friend. I find this to be wonderfuly done as it shows a great deal of value and a sense of connection. Very well done. I also love the shots of past exercises while Angie's letter continues to unfold with a cool hand... a failure to communicate is definitely nonexistent!
Thank you! It's been most important to me that Angie should maintain a conservative concern for practicality and sentimentality, even in the giddy face of her bourgeoning sensual awakening. She's never taken her love for Mercy for granted, and is genuinely distressed about their separation. Even so, the chance to capitalize on her unusual ability is a strong lure toward self-reliant independence, one she's not eager to abandon. Walter's air-mail service will lighten her load, as well as offer an epistolary source for story exposition (which I haven't been able to exploit up till now). She wins, I win... reason enough to keep the ink flowing!
Shame on Sid and his wedding crashing ways!
Has he no heart? ( a somewhat literal question as to the fact that he seems to be just a massive blob!). The addition of an eye patch gives him a pirate-y feel, a rebel who sails a sea torment and tortuous laughs! A great detail indeed. The laughter of marriment might change to a different type after his arrival...
You're quite right about Sid's new buccaneer demeanor! Believe it or not, I hadn't considered this ramification to his new look (the eye-patch was meant to echo an image of untransformed Sid in Chapter 10)... I can see it through fresh eyes now, and I'm most grateful for the rakish view!
The idea of gate-crashing the wedding festivities developed gradually (the only advantage of taking so long to produce this series is that it gives me plenty of time to consider options), and seemed an ideal way to maximize Sid's crassness. Let it be said that he has an ulterior motive (no heart, perhaps, but unlimited appetite and a desperately crafty mind!)... the results of this raid are likely to be unpleasant surprises to almost everyone involved!
to bad Gale was out numbered...too bad for her, but not bad for the viewers! :ggrin:
Having a girl attacked by creepy-crawlies while trying to remain silent was actually a concept suggested by one of our forum members via PM (so long ago that I'm having trouble finding his name in my records to attribute credit. I'll keep searching and add it once I'm successful). Having gotten much positive response to Gale after her appearance in Chapter 14, I was eager for her to have extra story time. As you say, too bad for her... the price of fame!
Thanks for bringing out another great adventure LBH! :ggrin:
And thank you once again for another wonderfully generous reply! Such heartwarming appreciation is staff-of-life for the soul!
Call me cliche, but the flowery speech really gets to me. Von Smutt's a favorite now more than ever.
Very kind of you to say so, Sammi! Von Smutt was concieved as a silver-tongued devil (he needed to be, to convince a hard case like Sephie), and it's enormously gratifying that this element of the storytelling has resonated with you! Especially so, as it proved so difficult to write... as I mentioned to Bombers, this first scene took weeks of rewriting and tweaking before I came up with anything that even began to work! It's easily been my most difficult script challenge to date, and I hope I don't have many more like it!
It's good to check in on Angie, too. Seems like forever since we've seen her, and ya know I love her. But I think it was pretty clear she's in good hands (wiggling fingers and all)...
I knew you'd be happy to see Angie again! It's the primary reason I was anxious to include an update (good for narrative structure too, not losing track of primary characters. Lord alone knows how many readers will remember Little Big Head when I have to reintroduce him!) It's true, Angie is well cared for by the Feare troupe... she'll have plenty of risky trials to face once the wagon reaches Bliss Harbor, though. If Fiona's adequately seen to her training, they shouldn't prove insurmountable.
...and seeing Jen and Billy together in wedded bliss was definitely nice. If only that damned Sid didn't crash the party. Ah well, time for action! The next chapter can't help but be exciting now.
Yes, I was in two minds about ruining the newlyweds' special day. It seemed a particularly mean thing to do. In the end, I figured their union was hardy enough to survive the trial, and that Sid's outrage would paint him as particularly dastardly (good coloring for a villain!) I'll strive to work bits of their strong bond into the upcoming battle... I'll likewise do my level best to see that the conflict fulfills in the thrill department! The Swillwell raid is the culmination of many chapters-worth of build-up... it dares not disappoint!
And ninja Sephie is great. Nice to see her get a little attention, too. The idea of her teamed with Von Smutt... I'd guess the bogey threat doesn't have a chance.
You're right indeed, Sephie's received far too little focus (serving primarily as an exposition delivery system while Mercy gets to do all the traipsing around!) As the story was originally envisioned, she was as central a character as Mercy or Angie. Thus far, her presence has carried very little weight, but that should change hereafter. I'm deeply pleased the Sephie/Von Smutt tandem seems formidable to you... it was an important priority for me to build the good guys up a bit, as they'll have mountainous upcoming obstacles to face. Powerful forces in collision amounts to good drama... it'd be a mistake for to grant either side an overwhelming advantage in this particular narrative!
Uhh... say, LBH fella, not to be a bummer, but how many time passed since you last posted a Low Roads chapter and why? Not that it's any important, though! The happy news is that you've finally came back with another masterpiece out there! I gotta agree with Abadon XXX, seeing tough girls being tickled (especially with a feather in the sole) is priceless!
Alas, I plead guilty! Far too much time has passed since Chapter 15, and while some of that was beyond my control (I had to rebuild a new production system after the shop computer pooped out), much of it wasn't. Script problems ground me into lethargy, and I took a full month off to reacquaint myself with an old passion... scale model soldiers. I converted and painted up 40-some-odd 60mm Spartan hoplites (Conte Spartans, absolutely gorgeous models! I'll send in pictures if I ever get myself another camera). Happily, I'm back on track now... Chapter 17 shouldn't take more than 2 months to produce. Very pleased you enjoyed the current work, however delayed!
And I must admit... long ago I got inspired by your comics to do a tickling comic myself to post here out and about... and those ones from Ilohnoh just raised this desire... now again it comes!... Of course, it wouldn't steal the priority of any request, though!
Your
Tenchi manga was a marvelous achievement, Featherhead! I've been pining to see more comic work from you... you have a mighty talent for it! I understand what you mean about your request work, though... few artists have been more generous with their time and effort! I'll stay hopeful you can squeeze in another at some point... even if it took awhile to produce, the results would be warmly welcomed!
A wonderfully dense (if sometimes hard to follow) story with top-shelf draftsmanship!
Very kind of you Kopfhorer! I know these chapters can be a thick tangle, mostly because each unfolds is in the midst of developing events. It sure doesn't help that two months' time passes between readings, so that important details can be forgotten... absorbed as a single unit (the way one would read a novel), I suspect they would play less confused. It certainly is encouraging to me that, despite this drawback, so many are willing to grant me the benefit of the doubt and stick with the story!
Tell me, is the top being worn by one of Sid's minions meant to mimic Peanuts front man (boy?) Charlie Brown's shirt?
Well... I didn't
exactly do that on purpose. I was looking for a design to distinguish the guy's serape, and the zig-zag pattern in fairly common sarape motif. The kinship to the famous Peanuts shirt became evident fairly early on, though, at a point where I could easily have redrawn. Still, I chose not to... the similarity gave his outfit distinction I was loathe to lose (one can almost envision a luckless Charlie Brown, gone to seed at last). If the Schultz estate is upset, they can track me down! If they don't know where to look... better still!
Excellent new chapter, LBH. The battle now commences. Kinda reminds me of the last scene in Act 1 of Fiddler on The Roof when the pogrom occurs at Motel and Tzietel's wedding (I played Motel in our high school's version).
Thanks for your ever-kind support, Hawk! I had a chance to act in a college performance of
Fiddler, though I wound up building flats instead... my unerring ability to sing off-key and dance flatfooted has always stood me in good stead on the set crew! I don't recall much about the production, but you're right... the similarity is striking! Could be it entered into my consideration as I wrote! Come to think of it, there's a scene in the Charlton Heston film "The Warlord" in which (as a Norman noble) he stops a wedding ceremony to claim the bride. Something like this happens in the Malcolm Macdowell big budget porno escapade, "Caligula", too. It seems to be a more common theme than I originally thought!
It will be godo to see Von Smutt, Sephie and Mercy fighting together against Sid. No idea if this is the BIG climax or just the build up of Act 1, but it should be fun to watch.
I sure hope it will be. Depend that I'll do all I can to bring on the excitement! As to this being the climax, alas, we're barely a third through with the story! This is sort of a capper to the third-way mark, in fact (as you alluded, the end of "Act I"). It's roughly analogous to the siege of Helme's Deep in the LoTR saga (though arriving rather earlier)... the cannonade that signals a start to all-out hostilities. Other major battles are also planned... I'll try not to put them off as long as I have this one!
