My final post to this thread.

If anyone wants the identity of this perpstrator, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]. I will give you his TMF handle and e-mail address.

That is the best I can do without going against the wishes of the adninistration here.

Jen

Ok

I've gotten Jen's side of this story. Happily it's the side I tend to believe.

But unhappily...

I can't prove them beyond my faith in her. I'm lucky enough to have met her once, and to know some of her close friends, so I can at least base my feeling on some real info. But it's just that, a feeling.

If I allow her to name the user here, then I open the forum to being a platform for everyone who wants to accuse another user of something nasty. That's a road I want no part of. I've gotten e-mails from users accusing other users of all kinds of fun things. One user has accused no less then 7 other members of molesting them. They said a user I know who lives in England and another I know who is in LA got them on the same day in a third city! Another user wanted me to declare another user a child molestor based on a line in a story they wrote.

How do I sort the fact from fiction? Especaily when I don't have the luxury of knowing them as I do in this case? How do I decide who gets to post the names of 'those that did them bad'? An error in either direction could be expensive in many ways.

This is the stuff I have to sort on a daily basis.

Running this place is about as much fun as having ones fingernails pulled out.

I cannot be a traffic cop for the off forum behavior of everyone here.

So much of it is based on things I cannot confirm.

So I need concrete proof that I can look at before I can allow a public accusation. My choice here is based on my opinions, nothing to do with Jen or this specific situation, just so we are clear. So Jen, and anyone else who gets involved, don't post the name here.

However, I'm sure Jen will be happy to provide a name if you e-mail her at [email protected] off forum. As I said above, I can't traffic cop what folks do away from here.

Don't apologize for having the realistic attitude that needs to be applied to these situations, Myriads. As has been stated previously, you are NOT the police or an enforcement agency of any kind (at least overtly), and MUST take the position that you have stated, due to the sheer impossibility of being judge and jury in these situations with insufficient information. There is no correct reaction to many of the problems and situations that arise online, and as also has been previously posted, the only true solution is prevention beforehand.....having worked with CyberAngels, it was readily apparent that the predators have all the advantages and none of the limitations of certified law enforcement agencies. We are FORCED to react, and that of course means that the problem has already manifested, and someone has been harmed in varying degrees. It's not fair, it's just the way the system is currently setup to run. Chin up, and hopefully we'll all do a bit better from this point onwards. Again, my sympathy to the injured victim, and sincere wishes for her well being and future safety. As for the attacker, time and the odds of repeating these actions are certainly NOT in his favor.....hope he seeks help and learns to control his darker side before it leads to tragedy down the road. Myriads is correct when he says he's not responsible for what goes on outside of the Forum. NJ Jen offering to reveal the forum handle of the accused is a good solution. It keeps things private and it keeps the Forum out of it. I strongly recommend that any women that are planning to meet someone for a session first check with Jen for this vital info.

Jen's predator profile is basically the same as that of an abusive domestic partner. The mainstream guys just beat their wives/girlfriends. Sometimes they murder them.

From a law enforcement perspective, victims of this type of abuse are seldom random. People set themselves up to be victimized, usually by failing to take realistic precautions and/or indulging in wishful thinking. Jen's experience is a textbook example.

I very much regret Jen's bad experience, but she at least lived to tell the tale. She got off easy compared to some. She seems also to have learned the lesson and changed her behavior. More importantly, she has shared it with the Forum in the hope of keeping it from happening to someone else.

Truth hurts. Mia will probably delete this post.

Attention TMF Moderators!!!!

Please close this thread.

Thanks,
Jen

Strelnikov,

Why would I delete this thread? What you said makes perfect sense and is insightful and thoughtful. I only edit/delete things that are unecessarily harsh and intentionaly hurtful and sometimes antagonistic.

What Jen experienced is a tremendous lesson for us all. The wise will take this advice to heart.

Everyones input is always appreciated and encouraged (as long as it's kept civil). Your post, Strelnikov, is as civil as it is direct and I thank you for sharing it.🙂

...so there, I didn't delete this post. In fact I had to re-open it just to neutralize your last sentence commenting on me directly! 😛
