Have to revive this thread for just a quick sec.
Working in the movie advertising business, you get to meet all the different voices out there. It was cool to read the guys who do voices in Powerpuff Girls and Spongebob, but this morning I got to read Powdered Toast Man himself! (He did Spaceghost too!)
He's an old Hollywood type of guy. The kind of old Hollywood type who was around back when Hollywood was, like, 3 buildings and 20 people. Anyway, he did that great line for me from the Powdered Toast Man episode where he saved the pope ("Hold on tightly to my buttocks!" I should have had him do my cellphone outgoing message!) He told me Frank Zappa actually did the voice of the pope.
I also talked to him about John K starting up the show again, and he said he had heard that too. He said he was going to give John a call to see if Powdered Toast Man was in any of the new episodes. He talked about John a little -- how he's wild, how he always had difficulty with the management, etc. He also went on to tell me he hung out with Billy West two nights ago, and he was having dinner with Stan Lee this Friday!
Oh golly, don't let me go on and gossip. But I thought y'all might appreciate it.
You know. With us talking about the Ren and the Stimpy and all.
