The rise of Atlantis (PC computer game, /F, tentacles, bugs and other environment)

Always your game provides some form of frustration Iloh and this one is no exception. I am stuck in the place with the pedistal. I am suppose to insert something into a hole and I guess I do not have it. I have checked all the places I was before and came up with nothing...what am I suppose to use...damn your fun games Iloh!

little spoiler:
The item you are missing is in the location called "Two Kings"... but you first have to lure that cat away. With what? Think for a moment what may be of interest to the cat. There's something you can pick up in another location that it's interested in. PS: It's a big cat! (and that's the final clue for now)

Oh, and if someone wants to write a walkthrough (and attach it here as text file for example), be my guest. I see several people already played it through, but there may be more who are stuck.

And now I feel like an idiot...thanks for this wonderful feeling Iloh...XD

Saw the ending...and I am not surprised that she would be one of the survivors. Fairly short, but very very enjoyable game Iloh. As I said again, definitely your best game/work so far. I wonder though if other items I hold during the end...well I'll leave it at that for you should know what I am asking. I do not want to spoil.

Thanks for your comments 🙂

The game indeed isn't very long, but I wanted to keep things in balance. Especially since there's a combination of action + adventuring. I thought that an action-only game could have a big number of levels, because you would play them as long as you were interested. However, in between of the adventuring games, people who might not be so good at the action part, or even those who are doing well in it may grow tired of having to travel through those mobs all over again and again and again, while they're looking for clues they missed or objects they dropped and needed still.

What I am wondering most, because you said that at least twice, why are you rating this my best game yet? I'm just curious 🙂

About the other items, please pm me with what you really mean, because I'm not sure from the way you put it there. 😉

Ilo.

Well I am sure this game took a bit more work to do then all your other works. And it being a side scroller, as simple as it may be, really appealed to the old school gamer in me. You even introduce the somewhat recent button sequence to this game. And this game has Jen as the character. Yeah so do a lot of your other ones, but were not able to be used to this capacity.

Then between the 2d side scrolling, you have the click and interaction game to it. Using this thing to open so and so path way or pick up an item to be used at a different place. Basic, but hey, it has tickling in it!

This is why I think it is your best game yet.

Thanks TD. And I'm glad you liked it.
Yes, it did take extra effort to make. A silly fact about this game is that it actually works backwards from the way it feels. The adventuring part is the 'solid' part of the game (where you can stand still and take your time, make choices where to go next) while the action part is functioning sort of as 'bridges' between those. Against all logic, the game is set up exactly opposite. The travel part is the host, while a separate instance is opened when you reach a destination... closed when you leave. So basically the travel is the core, and the places in the world are instances on top of it, which pause the travel mode. That is a mistake, really, because it would have been easier to do it the other way around. The catch is, that I started with the animations and action part because that was the unfamiliar ground to me. I hadn't made anything like that before, so first wanted to see if I could actually do that before implementing anything else. When it was finished... the host was ready and I built the adventuring on top of it. But the only way you can see this, really, is if you move the window on your screen (either) because during adventuring mode the action screen is behind the adventuring one. It's not updated at that time though.
