It is a mystery. I have heard rumors of The Dark One that he is so dark that he actually warps space an time around him and sucks light away from his surrondings. Its a very^999999999999999 bizarre and scary sight to behold.

I am picking up soe blips as well General Zod. All stations on Yellow Alert!

The hugmongous storm causes massive electrical discharges on the ships and many waves of super compressed cosmic energy blast the enemy vessels. Some vessels are destryoed outright, many suffer severe damage.*
