Not sure. For tv sets its sometimes easier to just replace the whole thing as most modern sets are made up of only 3 circuit boards and each board can run upwards of 300-400 dollars not inclding the labor to install it. 😱

I never will understand why it's sometimes cheaper to replace something than fix it I can understand labor costs 😀 😛

Well labor costs tend to drive up the cost of a repair considerably. Also the circuit boardization of fixing things has done the same. Before you could replace a capacitor, or integrated circuit that had gone bad and only need be charged for that small component. However now its easier to hire someone with no knowledge of electronics and just have him replace one of three or four circuit boards in the object in question.
