Most tanks nowadays have a real good fire surpression system. The Merkava series has a ball and chail armor on the back of the turret,to prematurely detonate rockets fired at them. 😀 😛

Mao was essentially telling Stalin you want to start something with me I got more troops then you can handle. 😀

I am told Stalin was a confusing person to deal with. One day he would pretend to be your best friend. The next he might have you executed. People were so unsure of where they stood with him that they were always afraid of him. The effect was certainly what he was after. 🙂

I have read that when he really died most people thought it was a trick, that he was pretending to be dead to see who would celebrate. So most Russians kept their mouths shut and cried crocodile tears for a few days until it became clear that he was actually dead.

Ironically Kurchatov was one of the few I think able to deal with him successfully. Kurchatov started the USSR Nuclear Program had he had any problems or failed in amy way he would have been executed.
