Thanks, milagros and kurch! 🙂 My dad's side of the family has always been fairly close growing up, but over the years we've grown up and spread out far. We try to stay in touch and cherish and enjoy the visits when they happen. 😀

We do have a sort of regular Wallmart a few blocks away. Only problem is they dont stock up too much on electronics for some reason. Not sure why that is. LOL

If they tried to build a WalMarts here the construction unions would blow up the partially constructed building and the police (also unionized) would look the other way. If WalMart bought an existing building and tried to open a store, then the Teamsters locals here would picket them and stop all deliveries of all merchandise, by force if necessary.

If that sounds like NYC unions are actually gangs of criminal thugs, that is because it is true. They don't intend to lose their stranglehold on commerce here.

Yea we had a smaller situation like that with just the supermarkets. Things got worked out but the prices now are not as good as they were. 🙁
