Tommy James was the original singer.
Tommy James and the Shondells had many hits in the late 1960s that included "Hanky Panky" (1966), "Mony Mony" (1968), "Crimson and Clover" (1969), and "Crystal Blue Persuasion" (1969). Band leader Tommy James went solo in 1971 and the remaining group members went on to record as Hog Heaven. Tommy James' best known solo songs include "Draggin' The Line" (1971) and "Three Times In Love" (1980).

Around here it will likely get cool soon. Although we sometimes have an Indian Summer period in September or even October, not too many people go to the beach then anyway.
