Well HDS is the real expert but I would think there are only 4 possibilities:
1) The summoning works and we must deal with Methrobium and this other more powerful being.
2) The summoning works and the more powerful being decides it rather not deal with its summoner and destroys Methrobium.
3) The summoning fails and a less powerful being than anticiapted by Methrobium is summoned.
4) The summoning fails and no being is summoned whatsoever.
That's pretty much the procedure. Usually the result is an edited version of one: The summoning works and, while the summoned creature doesn't like its summoner, it is more than happy to kill the summoner's opponents, or us, before then destroying its creator.
😀
THE CHISYM PLANE? Where did that bloated bugger get a scroll with access to that? This does not bode well. Horrors dwell in the THE CHISYM PLANE, or at least this is what we call them. I know not what, if anything, they call themselves. They are destroyers, killers, marauders, desecrators of entire systems. The, unlike that Abyssal being you encountered, don't care for talk: they'd as soon rip you to pieces as stop to learn your name. Size is one of the issues with them. The weakest of their number are a good twelve feet high, while beings a bit stronger than Methrobium, whom he might be likely to summon, are upwards of fifty feet in height or length! They take forms designed to terrify those they face. Dragons of Earth lore, for instance, are known to have been inspired by these beings, as well as giants and certain sea monsters. We have but one advantage in facing them: they have few with knowledge of magics. Most have an ability, like fire breath or destructive beams from their eyes or mouth, but few can actually cast or dispell a magic incantation. Some works have been written on them by the few that have survived an attack from them. I'll dig them up. Maybe they'll contain something you can use. *Rummages*
