I would think they would always need Truckers since they have the flexibility to go anywhere. Railroads are fixed in nature.

I guess all they need us for anymore is to take a loaded trailer to the rail yard,then take the loaded trailer to the receiver when the trailer gets to another state via the rail 😀 😛

I am by no means an expert on these things but it seems similar to a situation here in LA where we have gotten sorta Rail Bound with a number of Rail Lines that take people from one place to another. Those lines tend to run more rapidly then buses however because they are fixed, people often have trouble reaching their final destination. Buses are cheaper to add on and routes can be altered easily to accomadate passengers. There only disadvantage i think is they tend to run less frequently then rail lines.

Don't feel discouraged, Zoddy. You are in New Jersey, and that's depression right there. Trains cannot get everywhere, as Kurchie said. They are limited by their tracks, and you are free to go anywhere.

Shipping a loaded trailer via rail is so much cheaper than letting a trucker run it all the way through The downside to the rail is,it is slower But I guess if the customer is in no hurry for the freight,rail is the way to go

I am actually thinking of boycotting products that are shipped a lot by the rail

As Helena said dont be discouraged I am sure at some point things will turn your way. Like I said I think there are lots of advantages to haven things taken by truckers then over the rails. 🙂

I dont like Clorox they would not even give me an interview as a chemist. Like my resume is not good enough. :sowrong: They also make Hidden Valley products. Odd a bleach company would make salad dressing too. LOL I wont be buying either product. 😛

Well,at least I can get out of New Jersey tomorrow :happyhop: I pickup a trailer at the rail tomorrow,and deliver tomorrow about 100 miles away in PA
