I used to hear that a lot more about a decade ago. But since then, most people being accused of being cliquey have left.

Imo, there is no clique. There are those who interact positively and those who dont.

I'm not saying it is cliquey, I'm just saying that it can come off that way when people are trying to get more involved and trying to find a place in the actual community.

I agree with you on how the site operates, this community is warm and accepting to people who aren't just here to creep and get "spank bank material" but it can be a bit hard to get "in" with the community when coming in from the outside. That's also why I like the idea of this thread, it can shine a light on those people who are genuinely wanting to get into the community as well as those who will welcome new people into it. Like I said a few times, I do genuinely hope it goes that way.

The famous and popular Chicago is literally the only person from the TMF that I know outside of these boards. I have known her for far longer than I can even remember. It has been......13 years? 15? Something like that. But I can say with 100% confidence that she is an extraordinary person, who is open and loving and supportive. She is intelligent, talented, driven, and just one of my favorite people.

Forget "celebrities" like singers, actors, etc. Whenever I see one of those threads or discussion topics like "if you could have lunch with one person, who would it be?" she would be my choice.

I know I can talk to her about anything, no matter how random or serious, silly or deep, and she would never be judgemental or make me feel bad. Yet she would definitely be HONEST, which is all too rare. And she has helped me through some very bad times, probably way more than she realizes. Just an all around special person who I would adopt as my little sister if it were legal.

(Plus, the fact that such a quality person is so beautiful is basically overkill, and quite honestly, a little unfair to other people.)

I am sure many of you can back me up on how wonderful she is!

This thread is doing it's job in the sense that I want to be more present, and the idea of attending a gathering someday is becoming less of a pipe dream. I joined this forum about 5 years ago to start making like minded friends, and don't get me wrong, there a couple people who have become good friends! (I didn't ask their permission for a shout out, but two really stand up guys). But it seems like there are a bunch of awesome people here, and I feel like I've been too shy and missing out!

Located in Illinois, Darkknight is a Ler who is a VERY classy, gentleman. Anytime he has sent me a note or commented on a thread of mine... he does it with respect. Never vulgar. Always with a refined sense of kindness.

I know one of his favorite things is Batman. And he has been wondering where his Catwoman is to rule over Gotham City with. I'm wondering too...

One of the things I would be so sad to see... is him ending up with a vanilla. That wouldn't be the end of the world I guess. I don't think he will let that happen either. He has intergrity for his own needs. But... for a man who would use "Deep" as the word to describe himself. And as his occupation "Hero Wanna Be". Sonny lives in the United Kingdom. (I believe London...) He is a Ler obviously. And yet I've seen him talk about exploring his lee side. Overall he is a GOOD and giving man.

Sonny will always listen and help someone feel better. He is VERY mature and a BRAVE person for someone his age. He moved three years ago to a completely new country. He wanted to make a good life for himself. I can't say a lot of people have that kind of courage anymore. I think he likes adventure too. He'd just prefer to share those adventures with someone.

As someone who is 38 myself... to have conversations with someone and forget they are much younger than me...(He's 24 I believe...) He's quite an uplifting and intelligent man. Yet he has an adorable goofball side in the sense that he can pretend to look like he's not in on the joke...all just to make someone laugh. Thats an incredible sense of introspection to have. That you don't take yourself so seriously all the time. And thats unique and beautiful to me.

We don't talk all the time. But even after months of not we were in the chat room one day and I had a concern about someone. We ended up having a very deep conversation. He never interrupts me or has ever made me feel stupid. (Younger people can enjoy doing that to older people sometimes- he's NOT one of those Millennials). He listens... and its always a calm back and forth exchange. (I never feel hurried.) Sonny is one of the rare that always makes you feel like you just got home and its time to relax. He's a romantic at heart. And there have been a few nights where we just sent each other music videos back and forth. He's a very sweet and deviously sexy man. (The "mad ler" side of him is quite surprising I found out through an rp... sexy... playful...) And he has VERY good morals on how a woman should be treated. And anyone that mails him will be LUCKY to get to know him. He won't be single much longer... that much I know...

Dolly...THANK YOU!! I really don't know what to add. Except maybe...add my two cents about a few people I admire and would love to meet at a gathering.

There are three such people whom I feel I really click with. First is you, Doll. I initially didn't know what to think of you before I met you. A blonde bimbo?? On the TMF?? Impossible!! But that first PM full of advice you sent me was a real surprise for me. And as we got to chat more along the way, this place kept surprising me with the sheer variety of people and their walks of life, and how those walks of life develop them as people. Yours was especially fascinating to hear. You have one damn big heart; sometimes I feel maybe even too big. Along with a bottomless well of deep insight and advice to give (the deeper, the better 😛 ), you're genuinely sweet, with lots of compassion. And as a lee, I sense that you'd be lots of fun. 😉

The second person is Chicago, one of two people guilty of being brutally honest (a quality which I highly admire 😀 ). I've known her for quite some time, and lately she's become cooler than ever before, in my eyes at least. I've always admired her outspokenness, even if it got her into trouble a fair few times. But very few have the courage, intelligence and ability to give zero fucks when speaking their mind the way she can. In some ways I feel we're alike. And I know I can always count on her for a decent conversation; like Doll, she's open-minded and a good listener, and has helped me out a fair few times when I was at a low point and just needed to talk to someone. Just for that, I'm grateful. 🙂

And the third, also guilty of being brutally honest, is Pheonixaise. Now I've noticed how people with special quirks often have deep minds. This guy is a goth, and even though I haven't met that many goths, he's one damn cool goth at that. I didn't actually get that impression until he told me himself. And yet, I love talking deep shit with him! (I like deep 😀 I'm weird that way, or wired, or both) He can be a bastard at times, especially when he speaks his mind. But will always be the first to admit to being wrong. I feel that creates loyal friends. Who doesn't love a loyal friend eh? And I've heard interesting things about him as a ler, so I'd love to see his devious goth self in action! But on a regular day, he's one of those mates whom I'd happily go for a pint to the local pub. 😉

So yeah, if you hear me kicking down hotel room doors at NEST or anywhere else, it's safe to assume that I'm just looking for you lot. 😀 Thanks for being so awesome, guys!!

I like the idea but I feel like it might reinforce how some people feel about the site being fairly "clique-y". I know from my personal experience when I joined up and came back after a long break I felt like I didn't really fit in and everyone had their own groups they stuck with. Hell, I've been trying to post around a lot and reach out to a bunch of users and I still only feel like I'd be recognizable to a handful of users and it would mostly be because of the cat in my sig.

It would be awesome it ended up as how you intended it with genuinely nice and interesting people being recognized as such but I can't help but feel it'll just be the people already established on the site being told how established they are. Like I said though, I do like the idea and I hope it'll catch on in a good way 🙂.

That's exactly how I felt when I attended my last NEST which is why I stopped going.

I can't believe I forgot to mention her earlier but I wanna shine a light on a wonderful lady we have here on the forum: Smeg! *The Price is Right music plays in the background*

She hasn't been around much lately due to her being at school but she deserves a shout-out none-the-less. Smeg's a switch (last I checked at least) who hails from the UK and is honestly one of the most genuine people I've talked to on here. She's kind, welcoming, smart, has a good sense of humour and is someone who you can have an actual conversation about topics other than tickling with (although she's happy to talk about that as well as long as you're respectful [obviously]). I found her to be easy to relate to, share experiences with and would always offer a helpful opinion when she had one. I was always happy signing in and receiving a reply from her!

I hope she's doing well with her schooling and I'd be happy to have her back, the silly stuff forums have been noticeably different without her around .

But anyway put me in the "Darknight" is awesome camp. Dude I joined this site 4-20-2001(heh) and you joined right after in May and I'm pretty sure you've been on my friends list this entire time. Ive only got 37 friends in 15 years but you're one of them. I'm always happy to see the Caped Crusader show up in posts. Id definitely grab a beer/joint with you anytime and bullshit.
