The "What I Like About the TMF" Thread

A few things were brought up in another thread that I felt I should respond to. I find that this is the most logical place for that response.....

One of the things I like the most about the TMF is the opportunity to participate and interact with people with whom I share things in common.

Without the creation of this place....

I never would have known that "gatherings" existed.

I never would have had the opportunity to make great friends like Ann and Drew and a host of others that I have been fortunate enough to meet personally.

I never would have even thought of sharing my feelings about tickling with my wife( who has made my life sooooo very fulfilling and fun over the last several years).

And I certainly would not have thought of making the attempt to "post" on other boards or newsgroups that made you an easy target for ridicule.

In short, there would have been no "venray1" persona at all had it not been for the creation of this place. I owe a lot to those who founded and kept it going for so long and will do all that I can to see it continue.

so well put! you and your lovely wife (with the lovely name 🙂 ) are amazing. two people were never more meant for each other and I for one am glad to have seen it live and in person.

so.... if you hadn’t discovered TMF... I never would have known that a couple like you existed. so I guess that’s one of the many things ‘I like about TMF’. 🙂

What I like about the TMF?

Talkng about tickling, good or bad. We're not always going to agree but at least its our forum. Thanks to all my fellow members of the TMF for their input and ideas.

Dunno if it's already been stated, but I like the fact so many people have something which keeps them from feeling so alone about something so intimate about their being. I also adore having people here that I've created memories and jokes and bonds with. I mean, when I tell people about my first visit to Philly, I can really only talk about the Liberty Bell and the Ben Franklin Bridge and Water Ice. Not because of any shame, but because they weren't there and could never understand how fun it is to be in a van with 9 people trying to "get" each other without getting "got" or doing O.J. Simpsons (The HERTZ OJ, not the Bronco OJ) over cars on South Street with an arm full of sodas! This...and more I like.

What Do I Like?

The fact that we can all get along with one another.
We can share our experiences and fantasies without fear of reprisal.

We can make friends with people we may (sadly)never meet.

The sense of community and feeling welcome.

That there's something for everyone (pictures, clips stories etc).

The generousity of people willing to share their hard work.

The list is endless!!!!

I, as one of the seemingly very few, appreciate the moderation. The last few days I checked out AMT while this site was down, and was surprised how far down it has gone. I remember going there five or six years ago, however long it has been around, and it was the place to go. Good binaries and discussion were to be found. Now, although I don't look for the binaries (they may still be there), the discussion is the worst I have ever seen. I feel sorry for Bob Hare. He tries so hard to keep it peaceable, and it is anything but. There is one guy there who posts things complaining about this and TickleTheater, and then answers them himself...multiple times!

Here, I never have to worry about idiots (in general). The major cry is for free speech. Everytime I read that, my first thought is...

it is _t i c k l i n g_!

We're not trying to solve world problems here. I find it hard to believe that anyone can find something to be offended by on a tickling discussion site. Anyone else not into tickling that would find it hard to believe a site like this even exists, I am fairly sure would be even more surprised that people can be divisive on such a site. It just goes to prove what I have always believed; people look for things by which to be offended. I'll say it again...how can anyone find something in tickling (think about how ridiculous this sounds) to fight about??

I say kudos to those who develop for the site as well as moderate it.

There are plenty of graceless arseholes on this site and there are plenty of people who react to them. Nuff said.

what I likED

Though I've pretty much abandoned TMF for the the less club-like atmosphere of Tickle Theater, I liked TMF's page layout and the fact that it provided timely news for the tickling community.

i love the way the mods give everyone freedom to post all kinds of different things and they are great people very laid back and at the same time respectful

I Like everything about the TMF but what I love most of all is all the GREAT!! friends I have made here since joining the TMF community ....this is home to me where I can come be myself and not feel out of place with my love and desire for tickling 🙂
