Tickle hair...any solutions?

I'm very new to TMF. I'm wondering if anyone out there can give me any advice on how to avoid/deal with tickle hair. I'm tired of detangling!

Ugh, I hate it. Usually I take a shower afterward anyway, so I deal with it then. Or I put it up the whole time and then brush it out later, like bedhead.

Well welcome to us crazies in Cali--Goddess brought up a pretty good detangler as a gift when we all partied last month--I'm sure she'll weigh in once she returns home from our good bye to Dan party...

I pin a little bun w/a banana clip until I can get home for some hair 911...

Lol you guys, "tickle hair"! My hair's past my waist - I was mostly wondering what would be the best way to *wear* it while being tickled. I prefer it in a bun, that'd be fine for facedown, but would be bad for face-up. 😉

Having seen your lovely long, thick hair in person a million times (hmmm...as recently as last nite I think) 😉

I feel safe in saying you're pretty immune from this problem, it's those of us with that awful fine, baby soft whispies who suffer the most. I remember my first scene, freestyle hair, and I ended up looking like Young Frankenstein, I was teased endlessly over it: "OMG, you're not going into the hallway looking like THAT are you? Here's my brush!"

My response? Pshhh! "It's past midnite, I'm making a 5 minute phone call and at this point in time I do NOT give a flying rat's ass what my hair looks like. I don't anticipate doing any beauty pageants in the next 12 hours!"

Oh and what I do is put in in a HIGH bun for face up play, you're right, placement is everything! A really high haute-couture-style ponytail for you would look great and solve the problem, as if you had to worry...

Interesting you brought that stuff up...I used to buy it years ago and I loved it, but I bought a bottle recently and it didn't do anything. Maybe I just got a bad bottle, but I was assuming they changed their formula to an inferior one. Also, it doesn't smell as bad as it used to, which is another thing that leads me to believe they changed their formula! Lol.

Hmmmmmmm, dont know about the formula. I admit it is a product that I don't use on a regular basis, it tends to make my hair a little too oil---but when I develop major snarls, nothing gets them out as quickly and easily as Detangler.
BTW, it was lovely meeting you and I did notice your gorgeous hair.

I think it is hair that gets messed up from the ticklee squirming around while being tickled.

Tickle hair is not unlike sex hair- it getws all pushed up and knotted in the back...a long enough session will lead to a brillo pad type of do.

I find a braid works well for me.

When I am tickled, especially if i'm restrained on my back, my hair gets completely ratted in the back from all my squirming and is impossible to brush. I assume it only happens with long hair? but it's a big ol' mess, and totally annoying/somewhat painful. bagelfather actually told me this is called tickle hair.

I think that's the one a friend of mine recommended (not for tickle hair specifically though!) and I wanted to try. She has really really thick hair, the kind you can't even get a brush through sometimes.

Ya know what ELSE he says? He's wanted to tickle you for like, oh, 3 years now... but he was afraid of traumatizing you at your very first Gathering! I'd be willing to bet good money that he'd have MADE the time, if he'd thought you wanted him to. He was just bein' his normal, respectful self and not violating someone as shy as you. 🙄

All for nothing? Damn... I'm sure your ticklers are flattered to hear how good they are. Must not have game, like us West Coast ticklers.

Shaved head? Yeah, THAT'LL get the guys to line up in droves... but then again, knowin' some of you girls, that scalp's prolly ticklish, too!
