Also about the chatroom: Becks, were you able to enter the same rooms as before and access the same features? We may have gone over the deadline of payment for our usual subscription (sometime in March), and that may be part of the issue, at least for those without admin access to it.

Yeah the main issue is with java itself, got a way to circumvent it for now at least. http://www.tickletheater.com/showthread.php?p=717707#post717707 if anyone is having issues with the chatroom try out all of these options. It seems like one of the latest java updates made it hard to access chat.

What happens to the site next is really up to you guys. Now I'm back, it has my full support and I will do whatever is needed to get it back to its former glory but this cannot happen with out the most important part - and that is you guys. The TT community. So I thank you all for being so loyal and coming back once you've heard we're back online.

I'm currently working with mods and admins. I want to put a system in place where this type of downtime can never happen again. My absence was unavoidable, but I wish to make sure that somebody can work with the server company in the event of my absence.

In addition, I have sent an email out to all admins and mods informing them of my new contact details so me going off-the-radar and unreachable should never happen.

*my last email address started to get so much spam, I simply stopped checking it. Sorry everybody.

Seriously? I finally - FINALLY deleted my shortcut from my bookmarks with a heavy sigh two nights ago. Now I gotta re-add it again. So much work.

Even making me come out of hiding from the TMF and project making to post back on the place I called home (well - actually, the Tickling Games forum is my home...but...details).

Thanks a lot - now I have to remake my comfy spot. I think my butt imprint has fluffed back up in the seat in my absence.

Seriously, it's nice to see the TT back up. We all thought the site was gone for good. The TMF is a fine and dandy place, don't get me wrong. But this place just feels a bit more like...home. The community is just closer to one another, imo.

Without everyone back here, it all means nothing. Let's try and get everyone back, and let's work on getting TT back on track and all features working properly.

Thats a fair question and not only you, but everybody deserves an answer.

The top and bottom of it is that my health demanded immediate attention and so i stopped checking on things as I was so focused on getting myself well again.

Thankfully, I am now well again and then it was brought to my attention that TT was down!

Knowing this, I immediately started to try to fix it and I must say we almost lost everything. The database for TT was totally corrupt and was impossible to repair using most tools.

I then did some research and managed to find a possible solution to the database problem. It needed a fresh install of vbulletin, then to merge the repaired database which took over 12 hours to process.

Thankfully, after doing this we now have this site back in its current state.

So, in looking forward... i think the site and all its features need complete testing and then feedback from the community on any issue we encounter and then one by one, we can address them and get them fixed.

For me, i've noticed that i cant seem to accept friend requests... is this just me, or are other people having the same problem?

Every problem we can identify, we can work into fixing. Once everything is fixed, we can then start looking into updating the forum software and then this opens the doors to start introducing new exciting features that will take TT to the next level.

But i need everyone's help to make this happen...

If it's possible, I highly recommend that we look for an alternate option for the forum chatroom as one of our initial priorities. Our chat has been an essential auxiliary of the Theater in recent years; to many members, it's one of the more important features and appeal of the site (as opposed to some of the other more impersonal tickle-themed chatrooms).

However, the operation of our current room is dependant on the version of Java, which seems to screw with it more and more with each successive Java update. As it existed before the Theater's downtime, a user could only get the chatroom to work by going into the security options and fudging around with some things - and as of current, even those work-arounds aren't enough. *sigh* As much as I love our AddonChat, I'm afraid it just isn't cutting it anymore, especially as it's practically inaccessible to potential newcomers to the site.

Care to send me a friend invite, Mick? I'd be happy to check if accepting invites is broken for me as well. It seems as if the other Control Panel options are working all right - at least, I was able to change my avatar and send private messages just fine.

Joe, as someone who's undergone emergency surgery several times (though I'm confident I speak for everyone when I say), I'm so glad you put your health first and can get back to us on the mend. Thanks again for jumping in to save the day after most of us had accepted there was nothing left to save. Six months without this place was difficult, but Myraids was good to those of us who camped out in TMF turf. So glad you're ok man.

As for Java... Yeah anything else would be good, though I have nothing useful to contribute :lol

Also, just had someone send me a friend invite and I added them successfully.

The java chat is a variable problem dependent on the different configs of each persons computer. You can get it working eventually... the thread discussing this problem can be found here:

However, we are looking into other options that would eliminate the need for java to function. Please bare with us, we're on it. 🙂

It's good to be back. I've been coming here every now and then to see if whatever trouble the owner has, were taken cared off. Considering that this was my very first forum I've ever joined, I'm happy that's it's going well. ^^ In other word, I miss this place.

Joe, thanks for all the effort and getting the site back up! I'm a bit out of the loop, I've skimmed a bit and saw someone mentioning health-related issues. If that's what happened, I'm really sorry to hear you've had health problems, but I'm glad that things are apparently on the up and up? (I've been battling chronic pain and various issues myself, and helping my husband through it, so I know far too well how that can go...)

It's good to be back! 😀 I hope that everything keeps getting better!
