tickling as discipline?

As a psychology major, here is the problem I have with the tickling as punishment scenario. There is a process called classical conditioning. Most of you who have ever taken a psych. class know what I'm referring to. For the rest, I will explain.
A man by the name of Ivan Pavlov developed this theory. He brought in a dog and sat it on a large table. He put a metal cup in front of the dog. In the back of the room, there was a bell. At firt, he just fed the dog. Then, he started ringing the bell before feeding the dog. the silver cup beside the dog measured salivation. Pavlov trained the dog to salivate at the sound of the bell, food or not.
So it goes with tickling or anything else. If you use it as a form of punishment, the child will learn to associate tickling as a negative or "bad" thing. These are the people that 1) train themselves to not be ticklish so they don't react or 2)are painfully ticklish and don't like it, don't wanna talk about it, etc.
We must, as a tickling community be responsible here. Tickling between two consenting adults is fine and dandy. Bringing children into it is another matter and could be harmful and dangerous.

Yeah but it's one thing to write about non-consentual tickling, but it's another thing to do it in real life.

Tickling should be exciting and fun....it should not have to be feared and should not ever (in my opinion) be used as negative re-enforcement.

For the whole thought of tickling as punnishment, I like the idea when it comes to adult S&M games and roll playing (which is how I look at the whole tickling thing at its hottest). But when your talkin bout children, since I concider tickling the most highest sexual thing to my bizzare tastes..that would be to me child molestation in a way..but thats just me and my thoughts. Whatever the case, tickle torture is only ment for adult S&M fantasy..end!

Many people hate being tickled even worse than being inflicted with pain. Those of us who actually dig it are in the vast minority. For this reason, tickling is quite an effective punishment, without risking permanent damage. It's a way more humane form of punishment than switches, belts, and razor straps.

Though I personally wouldn't use tickling to punish kids, I've seen it done with impressive results. My older sister used to babysit my brother and I when the 'rents went out. My brother always had problems with any kind of female authority. When he refused to obey my sister, she wrestled him to the floor (she is five years older than he) and tickled him ruthlessly for about five minutes, during which she extracted several promises to behave. When she let him up, he fled to his room in a tearful rage.

In 1966, I had a third grade teacher who occasionally used tickling as punishment for kids cutting up in class. Usually that kid turned out to be me. Nothing really prolonged, but it certainly sent the message to the other kids.

Oh, and Slaver? It's still fake, manufactured, staged, and choreographed! Nothing remotely real about it!
