Since I can never find anyone to tickle my feet, I usually tickle my own feet..

Ill tell u what guys, I laugh.. HARD!

i let my fingernails grow long, and my dad hides the finger-clippers..

but, you can hear my laughs from a mile away.. i just cant stop laughin!

Hi Onslaught, welcome, and congratulations on your first post. That is cool about being able to make yourself laugh by tickling your own feet. Self tickling can actually feel very ticklish, I've tried it. For me, my feet arent ticklish unless someone else tickles them, but my belly, sides, midsection, and ribs, can feel ticklish if I try to tickle myself. There is a definite reaction. It's not as bad, of course, as if I'm tickled by someone else, but I can feel the tickling.
Take care, and enjoy the site. This is a great place.

Mitch

Welcome to the TMF, Onslaught, and congratulations on your first post. 😀 This is a wonderful place, have fun here.

I used to think that self-tickling was not possible, until I saw NJJen demonstrate it. It's not common, so be glad that you can do it. 😀

Welcome Onslaught!!! I wish I could tickle myself. I play with my feet once in a while and I can get a "jerk" reaction, but not a laugh. I do, however, let my imagination run wild and I can get myself going that way, but it is just my imagination and not as satisfying.

Just recently, I read a medical article somewhere where it stated that people are unable to give themselves the "tickle response", that try as one might, because there is no element of suprise, it wouldn't happen.

Nice to know, some people are more talented...beautiful world, isn't it.

very possible

i remember having a huge online argument with a member of the t.m.f about the "self tickling" thing,, she asked me how ticklish i was so my reply was " so ticklish i laugh in the shower while scrubbing my soles" she immediately launched into a tirade of how that has been proven by scientists to be IMPOSSIBLE!! she kept going on and on about how im a liar and blah blah blah,, and all im thinking is " who would lie about something like that??" i mean how stupid would that be?? maybe for some people its impossible but for myself its been something ive been able to do since i was a small boy,,i think its kinda cool,, and makes things interesting while talking tickles over the phone with someone else : )

I use to be able to do this to myself when I was a kid with some effectiveness. It just proves to me tickling is very much of a mind game and certainly not well understood scientifically.

There have been many scientific studies conducted on this but they all tend to be well rather clinical and dry and thus I think eliminate many other factors. I think many can atest to the fact that state of mind plays a critical role in just how ticklish someone is. A brainscan would indeed be most interesting because it would tend to show what parts of the brain are involved and thus my shed light on the subject. Regrettably I doubt the scientific community will tie someone to MRI machine and let someone tickle the heck out of them while they do brain scans. But who knows, maybe one day.

Intersting questions Kurch and SL. I've been interested in neurophysiology and wonder the connection there might be between tickling and sexual interest.

I'm sure they can say what happens in the brain during sex and which brain chemicals are most involved. But for someone into tickling or being tickled what happens in their brains and why?

I suspect, but don't know, that when we're young and our brains are growing certain connections are made in the brain. I think those particular connections perhaps determine parts of our sexuality including all the fetishes and even homosexuality. Certainly someone must be interested in how sexual differentiation occurs and would be interested in studying it. They may not look at tickling but they might wonder about other fetishes and certainly people research homosexuality and hetrosexuality.

Good points brookie. The sexual element is one of the factors that is of course overlooked by science for the most part mainly due to ethical reasons I believe. These tickling studies tend to be rather blah. For example, usually a peg controlled by an operator that strokes a subject's bare foot. The controls then are the subject controling the peg and stroking their own foot and the peg controlled by operator and the subject and stroking the subject's foot. The subject rates the feelings and they get many subjects men and women. Interesting sure but many things are left out.

I am another one of those extremely ticklish people who can tickle themeslves, causing laughter etc. It is, hoavever, not as ticklish or nearly as much fun as being tickled by someone else.

A while ago, I had telephone conversations with a woman that I had met online. I introduced her to tickling, and one day she surprised me by saying that she had tickled herself.
I had always thought that self tickling was impossible, but when she did it for me on the phone her laughter sounded absolutely genuine...
We would play games with it...I would tell her where to tickle, and for how long. Sometimes though, she even stopped on her own claiming that it tickled way too much.
Alas, we never met in person and the telephone relationship died. This post reminded of those good times.

That's get back to my hypothesis that while it might make you ticklish, it's rarely, if ever going to be as good as the real thing.

Well the mistresss is right I believe and even those individuals who can tickle themselves would agree I think that being tickled by someone else produces a much more profound effect then trying to tickle yourself (and is a lot more fun 😛 ). The scientific study I mentioned before agrees with this, though surprisingly many people did get some respone from tickling themselves perhaps because it was through a machine.

This post has some interest to us too. When I first met my wife, we started talking ( over the phone ) and the subject of tickling of course came up. Well she happen to mention that she can tickle herself too, on her feet and well she did it a few times and was very cool to hear. Now yes, like all, she says that it is not as bad as when someone else does it, but yet she can get a good tickle out of herself if needed. Anyways, I have spoken to other women and when I ask about if they have heard about one being able to tickle themself, I have had mixed replies. Some say no way, others say yes, but not much of a reaction. Well after doing all this talking to other women I came up with a few ideas that if they are interested I can walk them though those few ways to see if they can do that. That is done because some have said it can not be done, or they have no clue how to try it, ( ok thats last one is differant ) but still I have walked a few though some ways to try and hey, for some it worked, and for some it did not, but all said they had a fun time trying. So whats they moral to this story besides me adding my two cents? Some can do that and yet had no idea that they could, given a little help to find out.
Ok I'm done, need to look for more that might be interested in trying. LOL.

If it felt the same when I tickled my own feet and it caused the same reaction and when someone else tickles my feet, I would never leave my house.

I Can Tickle My Own Feet . . .

I've been able to tickle my own feet since I was a kid.
I, too, have difficulty washing my feet becuase it tickles so much.
Perhaps we can do this because our brains already know that we are ticklish, therefore the reaction is inevitable.
The anticipation of being tickled or even touched in those areas of the body is sent to the brain & the brain reacts.
Like Pavlov's dogs, we are 'conditioned' to react when tickled.
Any physical contact to an established ticklish area will get that same reaction.
Maybe not as intense as someone or something tickling, BUT the ticklishness is still there, regardless of intensity or severity. It is still there.

Mistress Stephanie Locke . .

Mistress Stephanie,
The very thought of you exploring my untra-sensitive soles & toes
makes them more ticklish.
I would LOVE to be tied down securely & have you slowwwly explore
my bare soles to your heart's content.
I'm getting . . . excited... Hee hee.

My feet are extremely ticklish, I've had the great pleasure of tickling my own feet many times, but I dont laugh my toes curl up and my foot jerks away but no laughter. Now other than myself when someone is tickling my feet ( usually Ellen and Julie ) then ya have the jerking motion and the toes curling up and of course "alot" of laughs :Hyrdrogen

This sounds a bit like that 'Steve Martin' thing where he says he's glad he dosen't have breasts, otherwise he would be stuck in the house all day playing with them.
