Hey, whats wrong with being a conservative anyway?

As a lifestyle...essentially nothing. If your comfort zone rests within a conservative mainframe (i.e. "it floats your boat"), then that's you.
However, conservatives have a lengthy track record of supplanting heterogenous viewpoints and lifestyles with their own homogenous construct; a "standardization" of living criteria that applies to opinion, belief and the pursuit of pleasure as much as politics and clothing. Conservative policies often proclaim that ideology supercedes all things (visual, aural and linguistic), and that all things must be adjusted to fit within ideological contexts; the fact that contradictory things can exist outside the ideology does not register, only that it be altered.
Conservative values are traditionally mild, inflexible and discouraging of spontaneity; a person who lives by these values has a limited range of experiences in which they participate, or perspectives they entertain. Conservative politics are aggressive, accusatory and at times presumptuous, and political parties have, in the past, used lies, subversion, coercion, suppression, repression, even torture, murder and rights dissolution to eliminate alternative opinions and influence. This is ironic, because despite their fixation of conformity and standardization of behavior, conservatives rarely share the same attitudes towards the same issues.
We, the non-conservative, contrary to public opinion, don't HATE conservatives...we're just very wary of them. We frequently accept behavior, beliefs and recreations that we don't share ourselves provided that we respect each other's space. The reason for this is because we know we wouldn't like having our delights revoked by force, so neither would other people. Conservative voices are, by experience, the primary ones who turn public opinion and municipal, state and federal powers against us.
Millions of people have died, countless more suffered, and history irrevocably altered by conservative ideologies over the span of recorded history, and often the most severe and inhuman conditions under the indifferent attitude of conservative influence.
So the point is that you are NOT a BAD person by being conservative; you just can't be trusted.
