Those of us who've found love in the community got out there and made ourselves known to others. That's how we met our respective spouses. We gave them a reason to be interested in a real person. With many here it's not a matter of words hurting. It's natural to feel a desire to protect a good thing or something that is cared for greatly. In doing so a tendancy to become slightly hostile towards people slamming it down will be normal.

Nope. Like Crystal said, just our desire to defend a place we love so much. If this guy really wants to meet women from the site, he needs to put in an actual effort. Of his 28 posts, 99% of them are him trying to hook up and then complaining and getting abrasive when it doesn't happen immediately. Nothing is known about him other than he wants to tickle the ladies. The vast majority of women do not respond to someone they know nothing about. If he would lay some groundwork, he might have a chance, but doesn't seem remotely interested in doing so. His loss.

Well now, while the original poster was no gentleman in resorting to name-calling, trying and leaving a sign in a big forum like this can be a daunting task, a bit like making a dent into a wall of ice using with bare hands.

Regulars know each others, they understand the undercurrents, they can sometimes communicate without actually "talking" and they can be rather cryptic for outsider to penetrate.

You try and find a suitable thread, try and follow the posts for a couple of days, then you timidly leave a comment of your own, and you would hope people to acknowledge your presence.
Maybe you try and be patient; leave the thread alone for a while, give it time to bloom and all.
Nothing for what seems days, and all of a sudden, a surge of rapid-fire posts from regulars flood the forum, and your own comment simply vanishes, without anybody ever pay attention to you.
