What's your favourite quality beer? I don't mean the usual big labels that you buy because they're good and a good price, I mean the real special ones? Maybe hard to find?

For me, it's Hobgoblin from a UK brewery called Wychwood. Apparently they've got more, but Hobgoblin is hard enough for me to find over here. Maybe some of the Brits know what I'm talking about.

How about you? Favourite high quality beers? Or are you truly a fan of one of the big box labels?

Oh Hobgoblin is tasty

I have many faves which I find extremely hard to find now 🙁 Most are from the the UK:

- Old Speckled Hen *nectar of the Gods* 😛
- Smithwick's
- Harp
- Double Diamond
- Newcastle

There's more, but those are my favourites, lol :gbtoast:

Ahh, good topic. Due to my location I have a bit of bias towards the Northeast/Great Lakes region. My go-to breweries are Saranac (Utica NY) and Great Lakes (Cleveland OH) Here's a few of my personal preferences based on beer type:
Ale- Victory Hop Devil, Great Lakes Burning River, Southern Tier Old Man Winter
Stout- Murphy's Irish, Saranac Oatmeal Stout
Lager- Sam Adams Boston and Octoberfest (not really micro but I think they're excellent)
Wheat- Harpoon Leviathan Triticus
There's a TON more, but these are the beers I always like to see on tap

The silver bullet. Oh and Leaf, the first pitcher is on you.🙂

Corona with a slice of lime. Did drink an excellent one in Scotland years ago
called Tenant's Lager.

Oh good call on Tenant's!!!!

Outstanding beer... I haven't had one of those in ages 🙁

No idea if it's "real beer", but Red Stripe and Killian's are personal favorites along with Woodchucks and Amber Bock.

Also Irish cream in hot coffee.

My favorite beer is Yuengling! 😀 Unfortunately, if I wanna get any, the nearest places that have it are Tennessee or West Virginia. 🙁

I still have a couple bottles from when I worked in Charleston, over a year ago. I didn't wanna drink it all, because then I wouldn't have any.

See attachment. 🙂

Oh and Hobgoblin (the beer OP mentioned) is ok I guess, though I've only tasted the 3,5% one.

Let me ad fuller's india pale ale from fuller's brewery in london uk.

If you haven't had Czech beer, you don't know the true taste mates. I'm sure rosando will tell you so too, if he reads this thread...🙂

I have a lot of favorites, and I even brew some myself. But I'd say the first gem that comes to mind is Rogue Dead Guy Ale. That stuff is fantastic.

If you're meaning macro-brews, I avoid them like the plague. I haven't had any beers outside the states, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Rogue's Chocolate Stout and Allagash White. 🙂 And I could NEVER turn down a framboise. 🙂
