To Those Who Post Jokes in the General Discussion Forum (please read)

Thank you very much, Rob. I'm glad someone got the gist of my post and realized that I don't want to see jokes removed from the General Discussion forum either, hence why I am making a plea for cooperation and support before that happens. But unfortunately some insist on biting the hand that feeds them, so we may have no other option if no one wants to help with easing the problem to prevent that from happening.

I understood too. I suspect that I (and others) just have low expectations of any "self-policing" policy. Honestly, if that really worked there'd be no need for a moderated forum at all. After all, this thread is new, alive and kicking and the onslaught of joke posts continues unabated. (Ok, maybe I'm overdramatizing things a tad. 😀 )

To be fair, though, we commoners don't always appreciate how much time and effort you all put into making and policing another forum specifically, and also into keeping this place running smoothly in general. Actually, it's a testament to how well you all perform really. When you do it well, it almost implicitly goes unnoticed. So another sub-forum, although easy for us slackers to toss out there, is probably just a lot more work for you all. So feel free to disregard our uninformed opinions. 🙂

We're currently discussing and working on a solution that will hopefully please all parties involved. With any luck it will take effect within the next few days.
