Thanks Iggy, I really wanted to add the tribute album to Eminem that Cybil Shepard did a couple years back.

But,(to quote Lance Storm) If I can be serious for a moment, here are my real top 5:

Cream- Fresh Cream
Rory Gallagher- Irish Tour 74
The Allman Brothers- first record
John Mayall- The Blues Alone
The Yardbirds- Roger the Engineer

Dang, so many... er... (in no particular order)

Love - Forever Changes (the latest edition)
Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible
Radiohead - OK Computer/The Bends (delete as appropriate)
Nirvana - In Utero
Jeff Buckley - Grace

Hmm, as you see, these albums are for the bitter, pissed-off, angst-ridden type like myself! Mind you, there are so much more that I like, this list is just too vague. I'd add Smashing Pumpkins, The Clash, Oasis, Jimi Hendrix, Outkast and Busta Rhymes, given the chance.

in no particular order:
1. Fatboy Slim - Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars
2. Regurgitator - Art
3. Gorillaz - G-Sides
4. Django Reinhardt (is that the spelling?) - his best (that being of Django. Django Reinhardt.)
5. Greenday - International superhits.

booyah. i concur, booyah indeed.

Hey Gripped, Are you talking about the expanded version of Love's "Forever Changes" that came out last year?
There's also a new live version of "Forever Changes" that's out as an import. This has an orchestra playing on some of the songs.

Drew

Seconds Out: Genesis
Tales of Mystery and Imagination: Alan Parsons Project
Delicate Sound of Thunder: Pink Floyd
But Seriously: Phil Collins
Secret World Live: Peter Gabriel

This was really tough as I have well over 600 CD's and I love them all.

TTD

Ok, the thread says the "Top 5 Albums". I tried and tried to keep it to five, I really really did. So without officially breaking the rules, here's my "Top 5 Albums...thatdidn'tmakemytop5list" 😀

Power Windows - Rush

Desolation Boulevard - Sweet

Allied Forces - Triumph

Aqualung - Jethro Tull

Edge of Thorns - Savatage

It's so cool to see obscure records getting mentioned here.

Dave, I remember Sweet's "Desolation Boulevard", I think their song "Ac-Dc" was one of the first lesbian songs I ever heard.

And TTD, I had the "Seconds Out" 8-track by Genesis back in college. I used to piss off my friends if I drove the carpool we had cause I would always play "Supper's Ready". Which was intolerably long for them.

5 other favorites:

Ten Years After- "Ssshh"
Thin Lizzy- "Vagabonds of the Western World"
ZZ-Top- First Record
Robin Trower- "Twice Removed From Yesterday"
Uriah Heep- "Demons and Wizards"

"AC.....
DC.....she's got...
Some other woman as well as me!"

I LOVED that tune!

Every song on that album was pretty cool. It's too bad Sweet didn't make it as big over here as they did in the UK. Most people are familiar with them through "Desolation Boulevard". They got into some pretty weird stuff when they went power-trio. Hard to believe the same band did "Love is Like Oxygen" and "Teenage Rampage".

But They Don't Care!!!! No...No...NO!!!!!

Ok, now I'm smokin' too much. 🙄

Yes Drew, it's the expanded version of Forever Changes. "Your Mind and We Belong Together" and "Wonder People" are awesome tracks! And I must find me that live album one day too.

1) The Downward Spiral - Nine Inch Nails (played on a good quality stereo in the dark)
2) Queen 2 - Queen
3) Metallica - Metallica (The album that got me hooked on heavy 😀)
4) Come Find Yourself - Fun Lovin Criminals
5) Appetite For Destruction - Guns 'n' Roses

I must admit though that St Anger should probably be in at number 5, it hasn't been out of my CD player since I got it, but 'tis still a little new to know if I'll still be listening to it a year or two down the road.

1. Unplugged in NY, Nirvana
2. an album by Savatage but unsure of the title🙁
3. Dark side of the moon, Pink Floyd
4. This is Hardcore, Pulp
5. Bloodflowers, The Cure
