Tower of Gargalesis (Tickling RPG M/F, F/F, F/M)

All of the ideas I keep hearing about in here are amazing lol...and I did not know about the honey bee X thing, I did find the sign and the guy in the hole out of basic curiosity though.

But good lord if you battle her as a mage protect those feet with shoes, couple tickles there and down you go for the torture haha. Finally managed to beat her once I bought the shoes, and I must say the scene if you choose to tickler her more is great. *Votes Honey Bee as new favorite game character* lol

*edit* As a side note the scene with you losing to her is also nice XD...lost a few on purpose hehehehe....

*double edit* Wheres Jaynin at? Bribe the master to write some scenes for you lol

Wow my respect for Kleptomaniac and Xtreme both has shot through the roof. Writing these tickling scenes is just so daunting.

Thank you for your kind words DeusExProcella.

I do have an imagination for writing sometimes but usually i'm strapped for ideas on writing dialog for monsters. That's why the extended bonus dungeon is taking so long to make and more or less I rush game over messages for new monster encounters I made.

But if you like, I could try to help you with writing to take some pressure off of you. Pm me what you want me to do and i'll see what I can come up with.

EDIT: Here's an idea. I noticed the magic attack "Feathery Flames" is a starter magic attack for Wizard. I think that you should make a magic store. Have it so the Wizard can buy magic attacks that aren't on the lvl up skill list. Like elemental powers like i'm using in my game mod. He's a wizard so he should have the most skills/magic attacks.

P.S. got the idea from a Final Fantasy game.

thanks a dozen

No matter what I can do,can't say thanks enough guys(kleptomaniac,Xtreme09,DeusExProcella,Ilohnoh and all other gr8 contibuters)for ur time,gr8 work,..............etc.
I hope i c some gr8 losing scenarious so often !

Some screen shots from the intro. Yeah they're boring as hell, but the intro itself is actually really, really good. It's some of the best eventing I've done.

Well I was up until about 8 am scripting the intro. I really, really love scripting cutscenes, it just feels so cool to watch them play out.

Um...I'm currently building Knismesis Village (I hate mapping), but once I get that I'll start on eventing chapter 1 (ugh there are so many more maps to make...)

I know I'll have chapter 1 done before this weekend is over. I'm off Monday so if it's not up by Sunday night it will be by Monday afternoon (who knows I might finish tonight lolno).

I'm hoping that level 3 will be the aimed "level range" for chapter 1, since there are ten chapters. The bosses are pretty cake if you level passed them. To achieve the aimed level, you'll need to look around for quests. They will be your best friend.

Here's a shot of the Journal, which keeps track of your quests and tells you what to do next:

I haven't played the demo (yet), but so far it all sounds like you're well on track with your project. The screenshots are looking good and everything sounds really promising.

Staying up till 8am though...? I wonder when you sleep! 😉
Having that said, I know how much fun it can be to create a game and when you're doing something you so easily think: "Ah, I can implement that other little bit still too, won't take long" or you are lying in bed and think: "Now I have the perfect solution of how to solve this situation" or "This should be added to the script!"

Time goes fast when you're having fun.

Good luck, hoping to see this project being realized. 🙂

😀 I found a fix to my previous issues with the Enemy leveling system. In short, I've disabled the previous one (allowing me to still use the character stat altering script) and found a new one that allows "WAAAAAAAAAAAY" more control over the enemy levels (now experience levels with the enemies!)

The one problem? You can't see the enemy's level (until I implement a scanning system).

The good news? No power grinding. Enemies level up (within a range) too. I'll just offer this piece of advice to anyone playing a Mage or Thief:

Your life is going to suck, the minute you hit the level for a new piece of armor (it's in multiples of 3), go buy it immediately. All enemies are designed assuming you are prepared to fight them (proper armor, weapon, accessories, etc).

Also, juices. Buy lots of them.

Hey! Awesome demo. I felt i just had to try out all the skills... So i cheat lvled to 24. I found out, however, that some of the skills scale poorly and often don't do much more dmg than the regular "tickle" (auto attack). Just thought i'd throw that out there, in case it was something you were not aware of.

Well... The lvling thing with Honey Bee is infinite. Just took a little bit of time to go through all classes this way.

Hey thanks for letting me know. Would you mind telling me which skills you felt scaled poorly?

I've gone back through and ensured that all skills use the full value of the stat they draw from. Some skills are not meant to be stronger than your regular attack. The "Tickle X" attacks are meant to be equal in strength to your regular attack, just with an added elemental bonus (targeting a weak spot) which results in higher damage.

Attacks such as Tickle Powder are weak themselves because they inflict a rather powerful state. Tickle Powder inflicts a "Poison" like state, and because of how powerful that is (it targets the whole field too) I felt the attack itself shouldn't be too strong.

That said, let me know which skills are underwhelming, useless, or just not good enough and I'll see what I can do. Keep in mind the skills you learn naturally are not all the skills you will have available to you.

Edit: To play RPGVX files on a Mac, you'll need to run the program in a virtual Windows setting. Sorry, I don't know how to accomplish this, but it's a limitation of the software.

Sorry :<

Edit 2: I've added a link to a new demo in the OP. It's the same location/enemies as the last, but the changes are detailed in the post.

Skills that I found scaled worst: Rough Hands, Bear Hug and Piggy Back Tickle.
And i also noticed the mage skill Tickle Breeze doesn't take anywhere near as much as Feather Fire.

THAT I can answer. Feather Fire has a base damage of 4, Tickle Breeze has a base damage of 36. The reason Feather Fire does more than Tickle Breeze is two reasons:

A) Tickle Breeze hits all targets, which lowers damage somewhat

and

B) I assume you tested this on Honey Bee? Honey Bee has a Class-A weakness to the Feather Fire spell, meaning she takes 200% damage from it.

I have adjusted all the skills you mentioned though, so they should scale better. Thanks again, try the new demo. Those skills are fixed now.

Quick thing about the new demo. Giggle Goblin doesn't attack... At all xD

Oh crap, that's right. I tried putting an AI fixing script in and I forgot that it makes it so enemies will never use skills that exist just to call a Common Event.

I took the script out, so that won't be an issue...um...but enjoy an easier fight with Honey Bee and free exp from the Giggle Goblins!

I also found out that the "mamono codex" Doesn't show any of the creatures you scan. ^^

Aaaand I'm back... About the game over scene. The monster that defeats you end up waaay up in the left corner.

Thank you, I've been trying to figure out where they were lol I'll get it figured out yet, I can't actually see the game over screens using the debug battle feature of the player, so I have no clue what it looks like. Thanks again.

Edit: Okay, I've got the monster where they show up on the left side above the text box, fully visible. Unless I can find out what values I need to move them to the middle, I'm going to call it a victory.

I figured out the Mamono Codex issue, I was turning the switch off in TWO places, not one. So...stupid me.
