This is a very lively portrait, Vlad! Much good motion, as the tousled hair and tossing leaves imply the action of a breeze. The rich autumn color theme is most warming and comforting! And Azalyn has such a sunny, sweet aspect! Excellent skin-tones... the subtle highlighting ably capturing her cheery, friendly smile! A genuine smile can be seen in the set of the cheeks and the eyes as well as the mouth, and this picture captures that unity with smooth simplicity. A pleasing, natural look at this character, very different from anything I've seen before! I like it a lot!

I'll second LBH's breeze note, that I will. I'd say it (The wind action a la leaves and hair) and her face are the two points I like most about this work. That smile is a winning one, and goes with the rest of her face quite well. *Thumbs up*

Thank you. 🙂 I made it a point to made at least one seasonal picture this year, and being that we are in fall/winter here in the states (more like winter now), it seemed appropriate to draw that type of picture. Fall, as sterile as some people see it, is actually quite beautiful and full of color.

I wanted to draw one with Azalyn smiling, so now I've got that done too. Although its by no means the last time, and I want to see her go through other emotions and mannerisms as well. I've changed her hair from a more realistic red (orange) to an actual red (an almost strawberry color). Though you cannot see it entirely in this picture, her costume has undergone several changes as well, and I'm still not quite settled on her final outfit (the one she'd be wearing alot of the time). I like this color scheme however.

Elves are almost always associated with green and the forest, etc. I didn't want to perpetuate that stereotype (at least not with her). I was originally going to give her more earthly colors, like browns and such, but the purple top goes well with her red hair. She also isn't to be too exotic looking, since she lives among humans and human society for the most part. While there is a uniqueness to her clothing, I don't want her to appear too outlandish. It actually suits her better if she blends in a bit more than she would.

There are other characters who are in contrast to her, so this isn't really an issue as it was when it was just her and there were no other characters yet.

Anywho, thanks alot for another great response. Always appriciated. 🙂

Thank you. 😀 Me too. I love elves with the longer ears. When they are drawn shorter, or more human like, it makes them feel like halflings to me or something. And I was never really big on them (no pun intended).

I definitely feel this is one of your better drawings. I'll also second LBH's comment about the breeze. Pictures like that are rather tricky to pull off and have them look believable, but you managed to do that very well. I like the look of Azalyn, in both of the pictures I've seen with her actually. She's a very easy character to want to draw, I'll bet, and I can't wait to see what other pictures she'll turn up in 🙂

I quite agree with Missy Val, though I say your best pic was the first one you did with your tablet. This is the best colored pic by far though. The color scheme reminds me of a painting though I can't think of the name of it at the moment...

Yeah. Everyone seems to generally agree wherever I've posted this picture on the net that it is one of my better ones if not my best one. I'm actually surprized by that, given that the only real difference between this picture and the others is this one has a full background. LOL

Other than that, nothing has really changed save for the extras in the picture. I've been capable of drawing like this for quite some time now, I just never settled on doing it. Fanart has a way of growing on you, and it takes you away from your own styles and way of doing things sometimes. ^^;

I blame Zeus. He's napping when he should be smiting. 😛 And yes, a few forest creatures did try and nibble, but found themselves repulsed by my lack of meat (I don't eat much).
