😎 I have been interested in tickling for some time and quite often find myself chatting with american friends. Sorry to generalise, as I know there are tickle fans world wide but I always seem to "attract" yanks (not that I am in any way attractive lol).....anyway blah blah blah.......its often said that we Brits are a bit inhibited and make films like "No sex please, we're British" etc..I always think the USA is a little more open - minded, lets face it...better porn (Brit porns ok if you like women with no teeth and lots of wierd insertions...I DON'T for the record lol). I know the USA is massively bigger than the Uk - so basically more bods per square mile but interestingly a lady chum from the states said, recently, that she thought the USA was very reserved??? I didn't agree per say but wandered if anybody else thought that any particular country was more relaxed with "wierdness" lol - sorry , tickling etc...its considered a little wierd here...or nobodys admitting to actually liking it!!!
Maybe its all this USA porn lol - its warping my mind!!

I think that Americans are very reserved in real-life situations and are thus much less inhibited online, because it's the only safe place to talk about alternative sexuality unless one is lucky enough to live in a very kink-tolerant community.

Well the respective populations are :
UK - 60,441,457THS's
USA - 295,734,134THS's
That's a lot more Tickle Hungry Souls over the big blue wet thing...

Everything posted so far is absolutely correct. The UK is may be a little more open about it, but the US probably has much more of it overall, it's just unspoken. Of course, I don't think either can compare to a certain other country, lol.

This may be wrong, but I heard somewhere that Americans only appear to be more reserved because they're afraid of all the lawsuits being thrown around over there for sexual harrassment. The British are still recovering from the Victorian age, when they nearly became extinct through not having sex enough.

I think we in the US are afraid of lawsuits in the workplace. It's funny though, some of the most conservative sounding corporations are really invoved in porn, mostly big cable TV and telecomunications, through adult TV and sex phone line profits.

I agree we are privately kinky, publicly reserved. I can get Playboy and other adult cable TV and view it in private. However when an adult bookstore opened in my town, it was picketed and a billboard was put next door that showed a girl crying and said "Porn Hurts Women and Children". Several attempts to close the bookstore have failed so far. My co-workers complained about the "sick-o's" and perverts that must go there. Meanwhile, every big video rental store has a separate porn room, but there are no big signs outside advertising it.

Being an American, I can tell you she's right. I don't know about generalizing, but in real-life situations, I tend to be rather reserved about things like this, probably because I, as well as probably several others, am afraid of what people might think if they found out. As a result, we need an outlet to be able to talk about "alternative sexuality" as Val put it, and the best place to do that is online.

Thanks for all your input - all very true, especially the distinction that sex shops are particularly evil...lol they are demonised here as well...blackened windows etc. Funny that we can get everything from the net now so will they become obsolete?
I suppose i always think of Americans as confident because of the media we get and the fact that everything always seems a bit more professionally done.
My perception now is that I do think there is more stigma in the Uk - because people are ultimately quite reserved unless its mainstream and therefore deemed more acceptable. People are less aware or organised in promoting different activities - take the difficulties of the uk tickling forum. Quite right though, there are more people in the states but I do think the Americans have a better...maturity?....well pehaps the impression of not taking it all too seriously anyway.

That's a good point, but i doubt it, there's a few in southbourne, on the same road! lol. And the net's been going for a while, I guess people feel safer going into a blacked out sex shop than having something dumped through their letterbox for all household members to see

awesome looking guitar in your signature man. Giger rules! 😀

thanks, it was a bit of a bastard to get hold of as only 300 were made i think, i wanted to get it from America as it would have been just over half the price (in UK terms) but i couldn't find an overseas shop that did it so i had to pay full price for one from england, still it was definately worth the £700 i paid for it, the tone from it is sweet. There's another Giger guitar aswell - http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM05/Content/Ibanez/PR/ICHRG2-lg.jpg this is the ibanez iceman version, it looks sweet but i have a standard iceman at home and they are pretty awkward to play with compared to other guitars. If ur into guitars I'll show u my other one:

Better porn, better movies, better music

*leans back and sighs*

yep, we rock 😀

america is pretty puritanical about sex and kink. this is a nation where "abstinence-only sex education" is taken seriously as an idea.
