Ok, I usually don't like talking about my personal business on these sites, but I thought maybe I can let out my frustrations on here, just once, to see if it helps.

I have this cousin, well, she's my second cousin, and my dad's first cousin was in an accident yesterday morning. She was put on life support and everything, but today, my dad says that it doesn't look good. They're doing tests on her rigbht now and there's a 90% hcance that she'll be taken off of life support.

The thing is, I went on a trip this summer and I was supposed to see her after 20 something years, she's 4 years older than I am, but we had to change our plans and go straight to AZ. I kind of think it's weird that she is dying a month later. I don't know why I am upset because I don't remember her, but from what I've heard of her, she is this amazing person. -sighs- There, I've talked about it, and not sure if it helps. I'll keep you all posted though.

Have you guys ever had relatives that were on life support and made it through when there was a good chance that they wouldn't make it? I'd like to think that she could be one of them who could.

I've seen people go both ways after life support was shut off. All you can do is wait, watch, and listen.

Hello ShyGirl,

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through now. I have heard of people who were taken off life support, and they have a complete or near-complete recovery. Keep the faith.

I'm was in a similar situation recently, but not with a family member. A very good friend of mine was in a freak accident, and he was on life support. Unfortunately, he didn't recover, and I'm going to his memorial on Saturday.

Update:

There's hope....little hope....but hope all the same

Shygirl hugs...and where there is hope, there is life..never give up..remember, hope is a good thing.

aww Cellardweller i'm so sorry..

Sorry to hear about that Shygirl, and Cellardwellar.

@Mari, ICU is pretty depressing from what I hear. You were probably better off.

Sorry to hear about your Cousin and sorry for your loss Cellar.
My Grandmother had to have open heart surgery. She was given a 50-50% chance of living and she made it through.I was angry because she was in ICU and they wouldn't let me see her because I was not of age.To this day I disagree with how they do that to children. It could be the last time they ever get to see their loved ones alive. They should be allowed to go see them.

Yeah, ICU is never fun, I've had to have like 6 open heart surgeries so I know where your coming from Bee. Not fun, though I don't remember being int he ICU, but I was many many times -sighs-

-leans into hug- thanks.....that's the third death in 2 years.....my uncle bruce died two years ago of brain tumor and my aunt carol died last year from so many problems........when is it gonna end? And she was only 26 years old ><

I suppose so,I was pretty young at the time.I think,I was around the age of 13.

Sorry for your loss,Shygirl.I wish I could tell you when it's going to end.The sad thing about life is,death comes along with life. It's something we all deal with and eventually go through. All you can do is have the comfort of knowing that she is in a better place and is in no more pain.

I'm sorry to hear that recovery didn't happen. I hope that you are able to find comfort and support from family and friends, and keep happy memories in mind.

I just got back from my trip to my friend's memorial, which was out of state. He left behind a loving partner, 3 teenaged sons, and one daughter. He was 44.

Shygirl,

I have a very close friend of mine who I helped see through a depression, sadly, in my absence, she decided to commit suicide. Her attempt was botched fortunately. However she spent half a year on life support and made a complete recovery.

When I last saw her she was a completely perky girl.

Still is.

And is awesome.

As cellar dweller said, keep the faith.

Also, if she dies, don't fret. Everyone dies. Some sooner and in a more socially disappointing way than others. But she and all people are going to be happier.

She did die if you hadn't read my last post on here. -.- but it'll be ok.

I am just now seeing this thread. My condolences on the loss of your young cousin. I hope that you can take some comfort in the support that you will find from your friends here.

Thanks guys.....You've helped a lot and I'm feeling much better. ^.^
