Thank you kindly. I've been reading stories from here for months, laughter_n_love's. I finally decided to join last night. I can tell you now, you shall see many a story from me in time. I love how friendly people here are; it's like nothing else.

also this is noted with a sub-group in the regional groups section of this Forum; should be under Mid-Atlantic area.

Tethers and Feathers was begun about 1999 by myself and my wife Melinda, and we were joined shortly by our co-mods Pamela and Rodny. The group is in Northern Virginia (upper five counties of the state), but we welcome folks from other areas. OUr draw has been largely from other metropolitan Washington, DC and Baltimore areas, and we'd hope to get some folks from the Richmond or even Virginia Beach areas.

Activity is admitedly rather thin tho'. A very few of us may meet for a munch near Tysons Corners monthly, and during the spring, summer, and fall, we've had post munch party-gatherings at R&P's house. M and I hosted a tickle party at our house about six months ago too.

We'd love to generate more active interest in this, that is having people "show up" real time for parties, but over the last nine years the growth rate for having people show up for real time get togethers has been pretty small.

It's not a phenomenon hitting our region only. Sadly tho' NEST attracts over 100 people now, regional parties normally only get about 8 to 16 or so.

no, the parties are not --at-- Tysons's Corner. They're at the locations of the party hosts residences; which so far have been in Reston (Fairfax County) and Leesburg (Loudoun County).

Oh, yes, I understand that; just being nostalgic. I was born in the city of Farifax. There might actually be a chance of me going through Reston. That's the national HQ for TSA, an organization I'm associated with.

By the way, your signature picture reminds me of Gracchus from the film <i>Gladiator</i>. Have you any objections to the nickname 'Gracchus?'

I'm from the DC area as well. It would be fun to have a get together. It's probably a cool idea to have a Happy Hour or dinner gathering so everyone can meet one another. Just an idea !!!
