War...

PS - The US cares about preservation of self in this instance, and if you ask why yields a simple answer. If we lie down and accept these aggressions toward the country, then we become powerless to stop them.

As for the anti-american movement, I can assure you that any one of the people I know of that have been supportive of terrorists would gladly carry out aggressions on you and I reguardless of our stance on war because of the simple fact that we were born in the wrong place with the wrong religion. It's that simple. Fundamentalism cares not about peace or war.

To put it another way;

IF America entered a war that the whole world supported, There's probably a 95 percent chance that some punk would skimp and shortcut the funds that supply our soldiers with gear. This is just one point
of war. Or is it about trust?

Blind faith in your government will get you killed!

A question, nothing partisan, but merely to see where people's thoughts are:

Country X launches a biological attack against the US killing at least 1 million people. Should the US retailiate with nuclear weapons? Would it depend on what country country X is?

A Stitch in time (the past)

Stitch, the basic flaw in your argument is in your misinformed statement "peace at all costs." The overwhelming majority of protesters are not pacifists. War is sometimes necessary, but attacking Iraq will further destabilize an already unstable area, hand on a silver platter a reason for bin Laden and any other nut case a recruiting tool to inlist terrorists who will strike at the United States in the future. Sure, Saddam Hussein sucks, but a wise policy at this time is just leave it alone. Isn't it odd that North Korea poses a far more serious threat to the U.S. yet Shrub handles that hot spot with the caution the world is telling him to use with Iraq. Oh, yeah, I forgot. Korea has no oil.

Of course, the fact that Stitch regards the anti-war movement as an anti-American movement shows just how naive he is. I'm much more of a patriot than you, Stitch, because I love my country so much I do not want to see our foolish, self-serving leaders screw things up. This war will open a Pandora's box of trouble that will make 9-11 look like small potatoes. If you really don't want these problems brought to our doorstep, as you say, then you'll join the anti-war movement. But you remind me of a character Dan Rowan played on the old "Laugh-In" show, Gen. Bull Doody, who used to say "this war is not great but it's better than no war at all."

Venray is half right. It is a different world out there. So why, V, is Shrub not adjusting to these "new realities?" It looks like the same old dumbshit diplomacy of the past to me. The U.S. never much cared about what the rest of the world thought. Case in point, the Nicaragua situation, which was the Iraq of the 1980s.

Stitch, if you're so enamored of war, I'm sure you can find a spot in the world where one is going on. Go there and have a ball.

Great way to turn that one around Stephen! You must be a pro 😉

Peace at all costs, this is what I have seen since the vast majority of peace movements have centered around no concrete argument. Project pink says it's now okay that they treat women this way, student rallies here have been held because "war is bad" and I the loudest voices of all proclaim inspections work and occupy Iraq with UN inpspectors.
Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness...and the pacifists seem to only wish to defend the latter. They will tell you they are defending life but only by hiding.

There is a line in which we all can cross where our beliefs hinder on our judgement. Peace wishers can become anti-american when their beliefs bring them to a place where they wish not to defend their country only themselves. War wishers face the same fate when the freedoms they wish to defend are taken away, i.e. the patiot act.

Those who've kept to this post know that the above statement is the jist of my argument and thinking. Personally, I don't believe in backing down this time, and we should go to Iraq. To answer the question about Biologicals, no, never should a country such as ours USE nuclear weapons. Gunpowder has never drifted in the wind and killed millions. 😉 Nukes used to be for show...even the cold war was civil. Now nukes are nothing to proudly proclaim to give your country public power, but to use like a dagger in the night. That, is scarier than any war.

Furthermore, I wish not to be personally afflicted by this. I congradulate you on losing this argument, as you have struck at my character during a debate 🙂

I bid you farewell, for this is my last post, you see, I like debate but moreover like to go inside when the mud slinging starts 😉

Victory is mine, Stitch

The real reason you go inside is the slinging of facts is starting.
