What are you reading?

BatMan: KnightFall

Right now I'm reading the Trade Paper Back called BatMan Knightfall.
It actually the seconed volum Part two: Who Rules the Night. I the first part this big guy Bane breaks BatMan's back, after he runs all over Gotham City fighting the top villians. Then when he's worn down and sick as a dog, Bane bounds him into the grown in the Bat Cave. Part two is about Bruce Wayn's recovery, and this guy named Jean Paul Vally filling in as BatMan.

Jean Paul is more violent then the origanal Batman and has a falling out with Tim Drake, who is the third Robin, (Dick Graysin became Nightwing, and Jason Todd was killed by the joker). Im currently at the part where Anarky has deducted that Batman is the cause for Gathams super Villains, and the Scarecrow is trying to take over Gothem City. It's pretty good, but a little slower then the Part One: Broken Bat. If you like BatMan or just a good comic story you should get it.

also working through Piers Anthonys "Incarnations" series again, as well as e e doc smiths LensMan space opera. Next up is some L Ron Hubbard, and then Edgar Rice Burroughs is at bat once more! Asimov in the wings... Q

Piers Anthony is one of my all time favorite authors. The Incarnations of Immortality is one of his best. But I'am also partial to the both the Xanth and Adept series as well.

Asimov did a very interesting dissection of the Bible in a book entitled Asimov's Guide to the Bible... I mention this one because you seem to be enjoying the religion/philosophy discussion. Asimov must be one the the most prolific writers of all time. Over 350 works to his credit with more than 150 being non fiction. Simply amazing.

I've yet to read a single book by Heinlein although he comes highly recommended by most avid reader I know. Any recommendations?

I am presently enjoying an extremely light reading series by Robert Asprin.. Another Fine Myth (a favorite series from when I was younger, but still enjoyable today, much like the Xanth series)

Heinlein

Sheesh! Where to begin?

I'd start off with his earlier work. See if you can find "The Past Through Tomorrow", a collection of his "Future History" short stories from the 40's/50's. "Expanded Universe" is another good choice - mixture of shorts and essays over more of his career.

Start with these novels:
"The Puppet Masters" (1991 reissue, not the cut-down original)
"Double Star"
"Starship Troopers" (often billed as a Juvenile but actually an adult novel, about a young man)
"Podkayne of Mars" (ditto juvenile/adult novel, about a young woman)
"The Moon is a Harsh Mistress"

If you've made it through those, go next to:
"Stranger in a Strange Land"
"Time Enough For Love"

Hey Q, did I leave anything out?

After that, it's up to you. Don't dismiss his Juvenile novels out of hand. They're readable and enjoyable even as an adult.

ROFL! Not even the former lovers that comprise many of my friends would stretch a kindness THAT far! I'd be amazed if you found anyone that'd use descriptives that delineated appearance. I'm no pretty boy, darlin'. Never was.

Given the mental image of you in Sturgis on an old Triumph, wit' brush hangin' out the back of a saddlebag, I think I'm in love. If not that, lust. It's a fine mental image. 😉

LOL! Ayla, y'wanna meet in a biker bar somewhere, darlin'? I ain't gonna re-learn t'shift bike gears if y'don't. It *would* be nice t'get a Sportster and play fix-up on the weekends. Mmmm.

dreamin',
