What Are Your Pet Peeves?

People who, when boarding a bus, engage the driver in a long conversation, holding up then line of other people boarding. :Grrr:

People who dismiss something out of hand because it's new despite having never really tried it. This post was triggered by a recent discussion with my father, who, in spite of having never seen a single episode of it, has declared Steven Universe to be "utterly stupid." Sigh... =_=

Being a retail worker, I can tell you one of my biggest pet peeves is people who don't have any common courtesy for us workers. Namely when, instead of waiting to be asked if they have a store card, they just blurt out their telephone number without being asked! That really makes me mad! Also, people who insist on multiple transactions while we have other customers waiting and then those who insist that they be allowed to use their coupons just as they're about to pay, meaning that we have to start over again! UGH!

OK, non-retail pet peeves?

Definitely people who hold the doors on the subway trains. Especially when the train needs to leave and doors are about to close, only to reopen just because someone had to hold them or wouldn't clear the doors in time! It's especially irritating when I need to get to the commuter rail, which usually is only one or two stops away!

Also, people who refuse to leave you alone after you tell them no. Namely aggressive panhandlers, which is, sadly, a common occurrence in Boston.

Second the motion to both of those. All too many aggressive panhandlers here, too. 🙁
