...that seems to make it the center of the tickling universe? Anyone have any ideas on this? If I didn't like it so much in Santa Fe I'd move there!
 
I didn't realize it was. People usually say that about California, although I disagree with that since i live here lol

But maybe that's why NEST is one of the biggest tickling events and it's in PA 😛
 
While the biggest tickling gathering of the year (NEST) is held in Pennsylvania every year, I believe that there are more frequent gatherings in California.
 
I actually would have said California too. LOL I don't remember getting an over abundance of tickling when I lived there. 😛 BUT when I lived in California.... Lots of tickles. LOL

I actually attended my first gathering in CA.

But, it would be cool to teach in Philly. (IMO)
 
Yeah, there's probably more activity in California because it's the most populous, but it seems in terms of concentration of events and members of TMF and intensity that PA rules disproportionate to it's population...Ohio too, and the Midwest in general...perhaps that good-natured Midwest hedonism?

I actually remembering coming across a website one time where you could enter a search term and see where in the world that word was most searched - does that make sense? Anyway, the word "tickle" and derivatives thereof were hugely focused right around PA. I was really surprised at how concentrated it was.

Long time no talk! ...I haven't been that active on the boards lately. Thanks for your add. Makes me want to move there, feel like I'm missing out!

So why do you think theres's so much interest in PA?

Hey! 🙂 I was wondering where you got to!

I honestly have absolutely no clue why there are so many of us in PA. All I know is I absolutely love it 🙂 It helps ease my withdrawal between gatherings to have an awesome local crowd to hang out with. 🙂
 
Every time I see a new person, where are they from? Pennsylvania. I wonder if the site owners could compile some statistics on where everyone is from. People say there's so much going on california, but I don't see it at all.
 
It's not true. Other then Angel and Skip I know of maybe 4 people that live here...all guys. I don't think there is a single girl here in my age bracket (18-24). Been looking for 4 years or so for one and it just isn't there. We host NEST and thats it. Case Closed.

Right, I forgot, it's just my part of california that sucks when it comes to tickling... but I live in the boring part where everything sucks 😛

I can't speak about single girls, but as far as saying there aren't many of us here, you're totally wrong. I rang in the New Year with more than 10 TMFers - a good mix of guys and gals and all local. There are plenty more, too. You might just be lookin' in the wrong places. 🙂
 
I wish I could find the link but I did read somewhere once that PA and Ohio have a disproportionate number of people with foot fetishes. There was no explanation given. Maybe it's something in the water? lol
 
I havent noticed too many from pennsylvania but I live in PA so I guess there is at least one tickling fan here haha. I could definitely see cali being one of the bigger states that are into that kinda stuff lol

Hey Lyz and Angel, I checked it out on Google Labs...

Check out the concentration of searches for the terms tickling, tickle torture, tickle fetish, tickling torture, and tickling fetish in the attached pdfs: for every single term PA ranks #1 for searches from 2004 to today, with other upper-Midwest and Northeastern states close behind.

It's official: PA is the capitol of tickling! New Mexico didn't make the top 10 for any of them 🙁
 
I always thought that California was the place for tickling, until I joined this forum.
 
I find it even more interesting that Connecticut is #2 in the "tickling" search and Delaware is #8. Those states must have an even higher concentration of tickle enthusiasts based on their relatively smaller populations.

Definitely an interesting topic and something to ponder. :hmm:

But yeah, PA is the place to be. Except in the winter time when the weather here blows. :jester:

It's gotta be those Amish with their beards and sound-proofed buggies!! The 'lees always seem more tickled pink somewhere else.......... It takes someone willing to make the effort to start and host meetings/munches/gatherings/exorcisms and then do it again when only two or three brave souls show up at the first one. Meet people for other interests than tickling and then hope the laughs will take care of themselves. Hosting NEST should give PA an advantage in bringing in the local crowd.
 
I live in Ohio but for a brief peroid of time lived on PA. Some of those country girls I dated were unbelievabley ticklish. I cant say that PA is the center of tickling anymore than Ohio, or anywhere else for that matter. I think it is more of those who live in states or regions and express themselves
with greater frequency and articulation. Also having well known and largley populated events that might suggest one state has more people into tickling than another. Anyway that is my unscientific and 2 cents opinion. Perhaps a Gallop pole is needed? Lol

I grew up and lived on PA for 33 years. Yeah, there's definitely some fun there!
 
That area is the birthplace of American evangelicalism; maybe it has something to do with speaking in tongues. 😛
