what is NEST?

It's easy to get to Philly, and easy to get around there. Also, you know, I see transvestites every single day in my neighborhood. Gay couples, lesbian couples. There are some pretty racy shops on South St. I think in Philly people don't blink, so to speak. And they don't get mugged as often as in NYC...

The reason for hosting the NEST in philly is simpler than you might think. The mastermind behind the NEST hosted the very first one in his apartment 10 years ago, when there were only a handful of people. Over the years, the gatherings have gotten larger and larger, prompting him to abandon the more initmate surroundings of his own residence for a bigger place. Since he lives/d in Philly, it still stands to reason that the gatherings would continue to be hosted there.

thanks for the info on NEST, guys. and I WILL be there next year, gonna save up for plane tickets, i drove up to PA once, and Washington DC traffic was a literal nightmare, so either fly or drive way around DC, though probably drive.

I'm definitely biased, but NEST is an excellent time, where ticklephiles from all over (or at least Canada, England and the US, so far) come together for a (by now, the 10th anniversary) long weekend of socializing, tickling, eating, hanging out with old friends and making new ones. There definitely is tickling a the hotel, where a lot of people stay, but there is also a separate venue where the actual event takes place.

NEST _usually_ takes place in April, but this year it was in June. Occasionally there
have been two NESTS, one in April, and the other around October. There is a screening process to ensure that there is both a relatively even number of men and women, and to make sure that folks are invited who are of age, and who are likely to get along with others. Seems relatively painless, for most.

One of the absolute best things about NEST, which can make some people think it's really clicqueish, is that so many people love the event and the people they meet there, so much so, that they come back time after time. The fun thing is that new people are always welcomed with open arms (and wiggling fingers, too!).

One of the other best things about it is the constant laughter, from the moment 2 of the NESTees get together until they start to leave, and then there are tears and laughter.

To quell the NW representation and British attitude thing, the entire US was there. Literally from the four US corners. Only three Brits showed up, the two of them (a husband and wife duo) put on a DYNAMITE demonstration at the club.

If anything Canada may have been under-represented, having only myself. However I did hear some whispers of 'Omigosh, that was Snail Shell! I can't believe I got ot see his originals!' I'm not saying this out of ego or anything, but there was a hint of celebrity awe around me all weekend. (I'm still scratching my head.)

Hey, you guys missed out!

Yes friends, Alchemy was at NEST (yeah, I just referred to myself in the third person, big woop, wanna fight about it?). It actually took me months to decide to go (since it is expensive to get up there), but I said, "what the hell". So I got out of Texas for a weekend and flew up to Philly. Holly jumping Jesus was that an awesome trip! Everyone was really cool (and a bit loud), LOTS and LOTS of tickling took place all day and all night for days, got to meet/befriend some new people that all kicked ass, and got the honor of enjoying the company/tickling of some of the lovely ladies that were at the event (you know who you are 😀 ). I think we managed to freighten the hotel staff on a few occasions too. And the event itself couldn't have been cooler (though the stairs almost took my life a few times). Hell, you guys should have gone just to see the demonstration that a couple from England put on.

Actually, I was kinda disappointed that nobody from The Theater besides me was there. You guys would have fit right in.

Hmmm...NEST eh? Sounds like it was a lot of fun, but it does sound quite expensive. I guess next year, if it's around Juneish again, I'll have to make NEST a part of my summer vacation trip. Hopefully our mighty Canadian loonie will continue to stand tall and make my expenses a little less.

If everything works out... Snail won't be the only Canadian there next year, there'll be at least 2. 🙂

Usually, NEST is around April. Occasionally it's moved because one of the
folks putting it on has a conflict. Over the years, April seems to be one
of the better months we can hold it, with least conflicts with other
events, holidays, and the weather is not too hot, which can be a problem
for ticklers (unless you _like_ sticky skin!)

And honestly, it doesn't cost that much. I stayed in the hotel for the three nights for just under $200 CDN. The major cost is actually getting there, but it's totally worth it.

Cheshire Cat went to 2 NEST gatherings.....SEE WHAT YOU STARTED ALCHEMY!! The first was way back when I still went to college in Philly. This was maybe around 2001 or so, when the gathering was still in Max Speers' (not his real name) apartment. I'll just tell you right now EVERYONE knew who I was when I walked in.....(this was back when I was still considered "goth") multi-colored hair, piercings, eye shadow and a black trench coat covered in patches....I definitely stuck out like a sore thumb. I was even able to auction off a piece of art I had done too an older couple who ran a fetish shop somewhere in the southwest (still trying to remember who they were now.....)

But anywho....yeah It was a blast.....met a lot of great new friends that I still keep in touch with.....and if you're still around BeautyUK, YOU'RE GOOOOOOOOOOORGEOUS! MWAH! MWAH!! LOL. I bought my first tickling video there from Jeff of Magic Touch Productions himself, "Farrahs First Time" which still holds a special place in my heart....

I've been to gatherings all over the place, big and small (along with a whole lot of "private" meetings 😉).....nothing in a long time though unfortunately....last one I went to was...I think it was last year, JosieTheTicklishPussycat's gathering up in Albany. It very much rocked my socks......got to be gang tickled by 4 women at once......mmmmm......heavenly......and then got to get a few of them back reeeeeeeeeeeal good......MMMMM.....(gets lost in a flashback)




(hours later)......what was I talking about again? Oh yeah.....the important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones......

PS: Hey Camel......SOUTH STREET FOREVER BABE-UH!!! Nothing like lunch at Johnny Rockets followed up with some binge drinking at Fat Tuesdays! 😀 I keep telling all my friends out here on Long Island that when it gets close to the christmas season again we should take a pilgrimage out to South Street PA for a somewhat more interesting holiday shopping experience......😀

PPS: As far as the whole "biggest gathering" is concerned, I seem to remember hearing at the Albany gathering that the biggest was some big convention down in Baltimore or something like that where they rented out one of those warehouse-style nightclubs.....it was.....the something & something gathering....like "Fingers & Feathers" or "Feathers & Chains"....something like that.....
