What is you favorite live concert you have been to?

Fleeetwood Mac ... The Dance

This was a concert that I WISH that I could have been there for, but instead, I'll just have to settle for watching it on DVD.

I still can't get enough of the encore, when in the middle of playing Tusk, there is a drum solo during which the USC marching band comes down the aisles and surrounds the stage, then the song resumes with the marching band accompanying Fleetwood Mac.

Maybe I should have put this under a new thread...Concerts that would have been great to have seen live. 🙂

I can add to that "concerts I would have liked to see live" thread.
Heart, live in Seattle. This dvd came out a few months back and it's really awesome! Mainly their 70s material with covers of The Sonics "The Witch", and Zeppelin's "Black Dog".
Oh, another excellent plus.....Ann Wilson is barefoot for the entire show!😀

Aerosmith, Run-DMC, and Kid Rock on the O Yeah! tour in Scranton, Pa; 9/10/2002. That was my 3rd time seeing Aerosmith (in Scranton, no less), but it was my girlfriend's first time...and our seats were 10 rows back from the right side of the stage. We both made eye contact with Steven Tyler (total fanboy-groupie moment for me), saw them pass a mere 5 seats away from us as they went up to do the B-stage set, and to top it all off, it was Joe Perry's birthday, so we got to sing happy birthday to him. On the sadder side, it was one of Run-DMC's last concerts, since Jam Master Jay was shot mere weeks later. All three put on an incredible show, and did Walk This Way together to end the night. Just a phenomenal show.

Once again.........

.....it falls to me to fly the flag for Jazz for all you Americans! what is it with you people?.....My best ever gig was George Coleman at Ronnie Scotts in London. As a young wide eyed jazz piano player I went to see Coleman, I think he was the first U.S. jazz player I had heard in the flesh, it was about 1979/80. I listened to the Brit band that played first and they just knocked me out! I thought Coleman had his work cut out to get one over on these guys!

Little did I know what I was about to hear, Ronnie had got the cash together to allow george to bring his own band over, and he was clearly very happy with them, they were all complete monsters, they were worth the price of the ticket by themselves, but George was just fantastic, it was the "sermon on the mount" delivered by tenor saxophone. Such a big man, such a big sound, and so much to say.

There is something very special about listening to real musicians, who have spent their whole lives slaving away at their craft, trying to find a voice and securing totall mastery of their instruments, but able to deliver so much emotion and feeling.

It depresses me very much that this kind of musicianship is so out of fashion these days, now it seems more important to own a skate board, a gun, and a prison sentance to get a recording contract.

It's hard to put my finger on the best concert I've ever seen.

But I remember having a knee-slapping, commode-hugging good time at the Kiss "Crazy Nights" concert. Wow, that was 15 years ago!

Much more recently I saw Sheryl Crow at Heinz Hall in Pittburgh. I was able to get third row tickets. I love her music and I think she's gorgeous so I was completely blown away by the whole experience.

Sheryl came out for her encore barefoot, which didn't hurt matters either. Anyway, I loved the concert!

Garth Brooks when he made some extra performances in Minnesota a few years ago.
The first band I ever saw live was...prepare yourself...The Jets. Does anyone even remember them? They appeared at a Girl Scout Convention that I was at. Now, I can't even remember any of their songs!! I even had a poster up of the group years ago when they were popular. Hmm...I think I have a vague memory of a bag with their name on it too. Ah, the 80's!

Frank Zappa - 1975. Absolutely incredible with an hour long Mothers of Invention video on the Telescreen. Zappa and the Mothers performed the Village of the Sun medly with Echidna's Arf and Don't You Ever Wash That Thing

Paul McCartney & Wings - 1976. Wings Over America tour. It was general admission, so we wormed our way through the crowd to the stage. They played five Beatles songs. I made eye contact with Linda, who is one of those people who don't photograph well, but look great in person.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - 1975. I snuck in the Capital Centre earlier in the day and hid under the bleachers till the sold-out show started. They played for 5 hours, till 1 am. Some guy handed me a joint of pot that was so strong, I was nearly tripping.

Led Zeppelin - 1975. Had third row seats, that cost $10 each, which at the time seemed unreasonably high. We got them only by spending two nights at the Capital Centre box office, waiting for tickets to go on sale.

There were many other great concerts...Harrison...Clapton...Floyd...Trower...Deep Purple...Springsteen...Feat...Santana...Mahavishnu John McLoughlin...

...but these four were the most memorable
