I try not to insult people unless I get insulted first, at which point any actual debate is tossed to the wind and as you said it's time to see who can shout their side's talking points louder. That doesn't go anywhere, but lately I've been having very one-sided debates with conservatives and made this post out of frustration.
As for the US Citizen thing, I'm pretty sure you're correct. I remembered that the Canal Zone was US territory when John McCain was born but probably neglected to mention that; I did forget the second provision for being a US citizen from birth. Regardless, as you said, there are no constitutional complications for either candidate. I just think the "who was born where" argument is not only pointless but it's more an attempt to take a cheap shot at either candidate's patriotism.
I'll say that I disagree with John McCain's stance on many issues, but I'd never say for one moment that he doesn't care about America.
