Looking at the camera repeatedly, often, and/or for long periods. We get it: like everyone else who puts themselves in front of any type of crowd you are insecure and needy and want attention. But no one is watching a video to see someone awkwardly staring at "them" while half-assed tickling by braille.
No. This is a technical limitation, not whatever weird ego projection you're slapping on people you so desperately want to mock.
In order to make sure that the shot is properly - consistently - framed well, you need to be able to see the monitor. In most cases, the monitor is attached to the camera, and nearly all tickling producers are one-man shops because almost none of us make enough money to hire an assistant or have an off-camera monitor. So we're looking at the camera because it's the only way to make sure we aren't accidentally filming a ten-minute closeup of the rug.
Now, that said, there are ways to hide this - I pixelate my face so you can't tell what I'm looking at, and try to keep shots framed such that my mug isn't in-shot in the first place, and I'll be the first to admit the bulk of producers need to learn some basic camera techniques but... I swear, the amount of people straight-up insulting people for things mostly out of their control is kinda cringe.
