Tough call, but I think I'd confront the partner first and see what they had to say for themselves. I wouldn't keep it a secret for long though my friend's feelings would be my first priority.

Try to hide my excitement. And then reply with "What codes..?" and hope that "wrath" means tickling and not something painful like falaka.
