I am looking into purchasing earplugs to drown out noise from our noisy neighbors next door. Anyone have success stories of earplugs drowning out 100% of the noises or close to it when they sleep? :pie: :dancingbanana: :xpulcy: :imthedj: :flapflap: :wahooo:  :hello: :swayparrot:

Wax earplugs are pretty good I once slept thorugh a gas explosion wearing them, foam ones are useless for what you need.

I'm open to other suggestions. 🙂

Ive used plugs for years and never had an infection just an occasional irritation easily dealt with using an antiseptic cream.

Wax earplugs will be my back up choice. 😀

Rajee, mind if I ask a question? Do you live in an apartment or condo? If so, you should not be forced to resort to ear plugs in order to get a nights sleep. There are ways of dealing with this.

I use the foam earplugs I get from work when I'm outside with the planes...Its the kind where you can pinch them between your fingers and place them inside your ear canal and they expand back to it's regular size while in the ear

I live in a house. The neighbours are university/college students and they can get a bit rowdy but not real noisy and loud. Plus, I avoid confrontations.

Tried them. Didn't remove enough noise. Thanx anyway.

But loud enough that you have trouble sleeping it seems.

All I can say is you are a more patient man than I. If I lived in a house and could not sleep without ear plugs due to the people next door it would be dealt with. I hope you find something that works for you. 🙂

I'd recommend using the sponge rubber ear plugs. You roll them between your fingers and then insert into your ears. They expand and are very comfortable.

They are readily available at sporting goods stores where they sell guns because they are used by hunters. I use them at the track to block out noise from the racecars and motorcycles and they really work well. I've been able to find them for $1 a pair.

They are also easy to wash. Put them in a sock and tie the sock at the top and put it in the washer.
