POS had an ankle bracelet on while being charged for having 100 GB of kiddie porn, cut it off, abducted a mother and daughter, violated the 10 year old, murdering the mom, caught a short time later.

Probation officials are investigating how a man charged with possessing child pornography managed to cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet before carjacking a woman at a mall, fatally stabbing her and raping her 10-year-old-daughter, authorities said.

David J. Renz abducted the school librarian and her daughter as they left a gymnastics class Thursday night at a mall in the Syracuse suburb of Clay, about 150 miles west of Albany, state police said Friday.

Well, unfortunately, it took a tragedy to find out how dangerous this guy was. An ankle bracelet monitor, are you fucking kidding me? I wouldn't want to be this creep's lawyer right now. Now he's facing kidnapping, murder and statutory rape charges. Oh, to be a fly on the wall that first night in the pokey.

Jeez. Terrible, terrible news. I guess this is where psychology and profiling could really help the justice system. I know its wrong to sterotype people generally, but to think, someone with even a little knowledge of personality and psychology could have possibly prevented this by recommending this guy be kept locked up.... its just sad. A mom, a daughter and countless others have had their lives either taken away or changed forever because of this tragedy. When will society, and the law for that matter, stop giving criminals the benefit of the doubt!?

The politically correct group-think fear of so-called "profiling" throws the baby out with the bath water. Common sense as an anathema to those who pray at the alter of "P.C."

That's horrible. And I think he'll be charged higher than statutory rape for his attack on the 10 year old. There's going to be rape of a minor, child abuse, endangering the welfare of a child. Trust me they are going to bury him under a mountain of charges for this. It's a horrible, horrible thing. THese are the types of folks that need to remain in prison not the people that have minor offenses.

What does this have to do with the thread? He did a crime and was charged, convicted, and actively monitored via a monitoring bracelet. The police that monitor the bracelet screwed up here.

"actively monitored"?

I'm sorry, but clearly that was not the case here.

If he never acted on his desires before, maybe there was no reason to think jail time was necessary.

And ankle bracelet or no ankle bracelet, clearly he was going to to harm a child anyway. If that ankle bracelet ever came off, he was going to harm a child and even with it, he found a way to commit these crimes.

I think you're making a huge leap of logic to assume that someone with child porn is going to "clearly" commit a crime against a child. Child porn is illegal, and rightfully so, and there should be a punishment for consuming it, but it'd be draconian to start tossing people into jail for life for viewing pictures and video. I support the idea of having a thorough psychological profile done and, if it appears that someone will probably be an active danger to children, isolating them from society while trying to rehabilitate them.

I have to go with Spiffy on this one.

I'm no more liable to go have sex with the first woman I meet on the streets than someone who doesn't watch porn.

That being said, I do think he should be punished for this, definitely. It's disgusting.

The man was charged with possession of child porn, and was not a violent offender, or at least thats what i'm getting from the comments i'm seeing. Thats why he had an ankle bracelet. What i'm more surprised about is how he managed to get it off. I was under the impression that those things lock on pretty damn good.

Depending on what your calling profiling, it does make sense.

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with profiling or your "PC" commentary! There is nothing politically incorrect about demanding why police only target certain groups of people as likely to commit crimes when anyone can commit one sort of crime or another. And I don't want to hear about so called statistics either because they can be manipulated to whatever issue is on the table and paid the bill for them.

He was caught with 100G of kiddie porn and was on probation meaning he was convicted of a crime. He wasn't driving or walking around in public for the police to look at him and "profile" him. There was no assumption on anyone's part, he had an offense hence the ankle bracelet

There is still no reason for racial, religious, or ethnic profiling of any kind unless they're going to profile everyone, not just a few people in brown skin.

Spiffy was right.....this has nothing to do with the OP at all.

And I really wish you profiling advocates could personally experience walking through a neighborhood and getting harassed by police for absolutely nothing......no commission of a crime....nothing except the color of his skin. I wish you same profiling advocates can drive through the "wrong neighborhood" in your nice car and get stopped and harassed by police just because you have a certain hue to your skin. No criminal record, no disobeying traffic laws.....just because. You'd be screaming for justice over the rooftops.....very similar to what I and others who look like me have to go through. No criminal record, not in a commission of a crime, just minding one's own business and have to put up with this BS on the regular. If anyone wants to compare outrage over socially accepted prejudice and borderline bigotry to political correctness, then by all means, sign me up!!

Oh, and as far as the OP is concerned, I don't know why that man did what he did, but he's locked up with the rest of the animals and they do have a code......he can now live out his new career as prison bitch for a very long time!

Looks the creep got the snot beat out of him in jail when the inmates found out about him...

Authorities say a man accused of killing a Syracuse woman and raping her 10-year-old daughter during a carjacking was beaten and suffered a broken nose on his first day in jail.

The Post-Standard, of Syracuse, reports that David Renz had a swollen face and tissues stuffed up both nostrils when he appeared in federal court Friday to face a probation violation charge.

His attorneys say Renz was assaulted by other inmates at the Onondaga County Justice Center, where he was taken following his arrest Thursday night.

Sheriff Kevin Walsh told the newspaper he was looking into why Renz was put into a holding area with other prisoners.

That was quick...

Yeah, I didn't think that pedos were thought too highly of, even among inmates.

Looks like I wasn't too far off base.

I am also somewhat siding with SpiffyTickler on this. It is one thing for a pedophile to view child-fucking, but what about the actual child-fucking aggressors? Why are they not in prison or dead? People are bitching about a dumbass who loves to watch child-fucking, and his imprisonment brought about his intuition to fuck a kid and kill on a grander scale. If you like to watch kids being fucked: kill yourself, unless want to be cured... Help find the agreesors! If they can help find the aggressors, and kill the actual aggressors! It will help their anti-child fucking fantasy, and help rehabilitate their fallacious intuition.

This is a terrible tradegy. Unfortunately, the way our justice system works.. each crime is dealt with on a case by case basis. child porn is a very serious and disgusting crime. However, apparently those who prosecuted him in that case, felt the ankle bracelet was protocol for punishment. There may have been no legal way to say "We have to keep him locked up because he might so something".

I feel heartsick for the poor woman who was killed, and her daughter. I have no sympathy for the guy getting the crap kicked out of him in jail. Good riddance. I know that NY often doesnt give murderers the death penalty, but hopefully, this psycho will never see the outside of a jail cell ever again.

Guess who is going to pay for his food/beverages, clothing, library, television, medical assistance? Yes! You the taxpayer! What about the families and friends? Well, their future taxes are going to pay for his food/beverages, clothing, library, television, medical assistance. Inmates kicking his ass - only means that families and friends(associated with killed ones), will have to pay for his medical expenses thru taxes. They received no profit from it, the douchebag is still alive.

Thats how prisons work, Jag. A white supremist might not want to have his taxs go towards a black inmate, but thats how things roll.

Jager, I'm aware that you are 100% right about what you said, that the taxpayers pay for this slimebag in jail.

I'm a staunch advocate of the death penalty, and believe that this lunatic should get it, and fast. Unfortunately, NY, and most northern states, claim they have it, but rarely if ever use it. I think they are doing the families of the victims, and the taxpayers, a real disservice.

What does race have to deal with aggression? For instance, Charles Manson looks like Saddam Huessein in my eyes. Why is that old ****** allowed to live off the taxpayers dime? Why is any cracker, nigger, spick, beaner, Jew, Indian; you get my point - is allowed to live when they violate private property rights?

The "jail system," is probably the worse invention ever conceived of. It is counter-productive because the least productive(criminals), do not have to do shit. Yes, they are imbedded in a concrete and steal blockade, but who pays for their confinement? The productive people, right?

Cosmo, you kill my best-friend, and you are sentenced for life in prison. I hate(or, try to "forgive") you. Either way, when I work, my income/spending is forcibly taken from me(taxes), so you have food/beverages, clothing, library, television, medical assistance. Yes, that is justice!

I totally agree with you here!

The death penalty is a touchy subject.

I used to be for the death penalty, and then I realized that our justice system is laughably flawed.

There are people who spend decades in jail over a crime they didn't commit. How can we support the death penalty with stuff like that in mind?

I would have ripped his fucking shirt off so he couldn't hide his cowardly face...

The system is flawed because people are flawed. The innocent people in jail, is due to the malicious conduct by people within the system. I am not for killing people who may or may not be guilty. Rather, killing people who are actually guilty of violating private property rights, and the proof is in plain view(scientifically(forensics) and/or witnessed).

If somebody pleaded guilty to murder in the past, or they were actually proven to be guilty - kill them. If somebody kills somebody today or tomorrow, and they admit guilt(or, proven guilty thru forensic science) - kill them. If there is one thing you own on this planet, it is your body at minimal. For somebody to take that right away, and treat them(the aggressor) like kids by sending them to a cell(their bedroom). That is transcending to regression, and not progress.

Bothersome makes an interesting point about people spending decades in jail for a murder they didnt commit. I used to have a professor in college who was a lawyer, and he discussed this very subject of giving the death penalty for a crime someone didnt commit.

I agree with jager, though, that if someone pleads guility to the murder.. or is found guility through DNA evidence, they should get the death penalty.

As for the case mentioned in this thread.. all the guy will get is life in jail. He will sit on "Death Row" maybe for years, and then just never actually be executed. There is a famous case in NJ of a religious Jewish man who killed his two kids, and has sat on death row for years, has never been executed, and likely never will be.
