Where Do You Think Lebron Goes.. Or Does He Stay

what people seem to forget about the knicks is we can sign 2 players to max contract deals. so we can get a LeBron and Bosh/Wade with a decent cast of Gallo, Chandler and Douglaus to go with him.

He won't win in Cleveland and why go to Chi-town where if LBJ dosen't bring at least 6 titles he will be considered a failure next to MJ. win once in NYC your a God.

Exactly! :goodjob:

Thanks

I mean just ask Messier how Ranger fans feel about him, it would be just as great a feeling if LeBron brings the Knicks a title. Plus NYC would have 2 Kings, King Henrik and King James. Now I like the sound of that:wave:

The only thing I wish is that he make a decision and get it the hell over with! It's clogging up my local news like newspaper in an unsuspecting toilet and it's blowing my high! I'm used to premier players coming and going around here because GM's are cheap and they don't like to pay to stay. Besides everyone knows Cleveland's reputation for being a farm team city; the players get their practice and mediocrity out of the way then go to other teams and win rings. It's the main reason I'll never spend a dime at the Q, Browns Stadium, Progressive Field, or anywhere else I'd have to pay to see a sports event.......I'll watch it at home for free.

Cleveland fans make me sick--they'll pay boatloads of cash they don't have to be loyal to teams that don't go all the way. I must admit that I consider myself a Cleveland Browns masochist so I know what I speak of! We don't make the players or coaches accountable for not getting the job done.

None of this has to do with the OP, so here's my take on the original question:

LeBron will continue to screw us around and make the fans crazy with the waffling, but I personally think he's leaving; the only reason he came to Cleveland was because of the previous coach (who's name escapes me at the time) and the fact that unlike Eli Manning, he knows the concept and meaning of the word "draft."

But IMHO, I don't think going to NY will be the answer unless they'll commit to building an effective team around him. LeBron might love NY but if he can't build a legacy remotely similar to MJ's he's not going to be happy and he won't stay there either. If memory serves me right, it took seven years from MJ to become the legacy in Chicago; LeBron's on the edge and has to either ride it out in Cleveland, or throw the dice and see if he can get it done somewhere else.

If LeBron stays, then Mike Brown needs to go; he's letting LeBron top from the bottom and it's killing us. We need a Phil Jackson or Pat Riley personna (or as close to them as possible) to coach LeBron and make him play his best and stop kissing his ass. I didn't watch any of the playoff games unless I was in a public venue and was forced to watch it on their tv. LeBron simply choked and the team collapsed; enough said. Brown didn't manage the clock or the team; he just allowed everything to fall apart. Brown has no backbone and doesn't have the ability to coach a LeBron James; he should stick to high school or college because he has no place anywhere in the NBA IMO.

To the poster who mentioned about his mother and West--from what I've been hearing around the water cooler so to speak, the rumors are true. Plus my daughter has worked some Cavs games and is in the sports management program in her college and has direct lines to the teams, so she's pretty close. His mother is a skank, plain and simple. What's worse, she's an old skank and she's not gonna' change. Outside of lending her womb, she's the worst thing that ever happened to LeBron!

Oh, and primetime, when you have LeBron James' money, there's plenty of nightlife in Cleveland........trust me!

Yeah, Dan Gilbert finally wised up.

Now the Cavs need to get a legit coach and fast. It's their only hope of keeping LeBron in town (slimp hope, but still).

More evidence that LeBron is probably high tailing it of town and Cleveland is SOL:

Now it does also say:

But considering that none of the five teams listed are Cleveland, I would say that it doesn't bode well for the Cavs.

Bingo, on this post.

I don't think Lebron goes to Chicago, M J's domain forever. L A already has a superstar. I think some major heavy hitters are sitting down with Lebron right now and offering him the Empire State building, and anything else he wants, to come to New York, one of the top media markets in the world. I think the league wants to crown James the new king of New York, at least in basketball.

The NBA wants to revive the legendary LA/Boston/New York rivalries of the past, and they want the stunning marketing opportunities of an LA/New York NBA Finals. New York will build a fantastic team around Lebron, I don't know many top tier NBA players that won't jump at the chance to play with Lebron in the bright lights of the Big Apple. Money wont be an issue because Lebron would more than make up any salary loss in endorsement revenue, which I believe already dwarfs his NBA salary.

I forgot another interesting theory.

The lakers are being very non committal on any contract extension for head Coach Phil Jackson...they actually want him to take a pay cut, as I understand it. Chicago is already sending their old coach Jackson love letters and trying to entice him to return.

If they can make the money work, a duane wade, chris bosh, lebron James team in New York, and a Phil Jackson looking for his next challenge coaching them, would rock the NBA like nothing has in years.

sure would make things intereresting......

The fact that they're going to meet with each other to discuss their plans makes this a possibility. I expect that at least two of them will end up on the same team.

EXACTLY!

Triple word score bingo on this post.

Also, I believe Jackson is a Knicks fan and if memory serves me right he even PLAYED for them during his career.

In all honesty, if the Knicks blow this chance to get LeBron and/or Wade or Bosh and Phil they should just move the franchise to Kansas City.

I don't really care that much about the NBA cause quite honestly it is horrible to watch if your an actual basketball fan. That being said, I used to watch it all the time when Jordan was still around so if the Bulls are in the playoffs I'll watch a few games. However, I don't want him in Chicago. My gut tells me he'll stay in Cleveland.

jaba, I dont think that Lebron and Wade will both end up in New York. I've read articles musing whether Lebron would go to Miami, and the sportswriters seem to think it would never happen, because, Wade is too much of a ball hog, and you can't have two prime shooters with attitudes like Wade and Lebron on the same team.

Again, I'm not as well versed on salary cap and salary structure in the NBA as I am in major league baseball, but, it would seem that the three most likely places Lebron could win would be Boston, LA, or Orlando.

One other thing: I dont recall if I posted this before, but, there is a writer in the Atlanta Journal Constitution who states that he believes Lebron might end up with the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks have their own big name free agent, shooter Joe Johnson. This writer said that if the Hawks let Johnson go as a free agent, and make another move or two, they would clear enough money to be able to sign Lebron. The Hawks won 53 games this past season, so there is a feeling that if Lebron was signed there, it would mean a 60 win season, and a Boston/Orlando/Laker type team in Atlanta with Lebron there.

I dont know if any of that will happen. Plus. Atlanta, while they are a good team, isnt a "marquee" name like the Knicks, Celtics, Magic, or Lakers. I dont know if Lebron would go from one obscure city in Cleveland, to another one in Atlanta.
