who are the best all-time tagteams in pro wrestling

There was a tag team from the fifties and sixties that barnstormed the country and were the prime draw on local television and arenas. They were making a ton of money for appearences way before the advent of cable.

The Bruiser and The Crusher.

Their prime foes were the Blackjacks and The Minnesota Wrecking Crew.

I don't remember them well...

...mainly because they were long before my time, but the Kangaroos have a rep that is still well known amongst older fans.

I use to thnk the Road Warriors were pretty cool, then I got their DVD, and I realied they always did the same match. Demolition was a rip off of them, but they were better in the ring. I would pick them as the best Big Man team, of course I heard Bam Bam Bigalow and Big Van Vader were pretty inpressive when they worked in Japan, as well as Steve William and Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy back in the day.

Bam Bam and Vader? Now there's a team I'd have liked to see.

Me too, I'd bet their is video footage of them on some abscure DVD at the local video store. I like getting those types of vids these days. Like the Wrestling Gold collection. It has special comentary with Jim Cornet and that guy who writes the Wrestling Observer. One of the matchs I liked was when Lawler wrestled King Kong Bundy. Jimmy Hart was Bundy's manager, and would pay money to anybody for every minuet they could last with KKB, so Lawler kept sliping out of the ring, and running around. Jimmy Hart is jumping around screaming for KKB to hurry up and beat him. Aw the good ol' days.

Few can top Jerry Lawler for mixing humor and wrestling together.

I still wish he wrestled and announced his own matches.

I'd like to see Big Show and Khali tag team eventually. But knowing the absurdity of the WWE they would probably have to job to Rey Mysterio and Hornswoggle.

Even a wrestler as good as The Big Show could not make Khali anything decent.

I loved the Big Show / Kane tag team, btw.

You know that deal with Hornswaggle could have been a good bit of out of the ring Dramma if they had done it right. They could have played it off that at first Vince is disgusted by him, and then gradualy becomes found of him. After a while they are both wearing matching suits and yelling YOUR FIRED!!! at people. Then after about 6 months to a year Shane and Steph call them both out and they lower the boom on McDaddy that it was Shanes DNA and that it was done to get even with him for the fake death stunt. Oh well, if I were a booker either company would be better then they are.

Too bad they don't have a "Let the fan run the wrestling company" day.

I heard Jim Cornette is writing a book on the Midnight Express. Never saw much of them, but they were a pretty good team.

If they had a "Fan booker day" you can bet it would be fixed anyway lol. The first a real fan would want to do is put the big belt on CM Punk, and then it would his the fan for sure... Put the title on someone who isn't HHH's buddy... holly shit!

I'm sure I will enjoy any book about wrestling Writen by Mr. James E. Cornette. I plan on reading "A Dragons Tale" soon now that I am done reading Hit Man: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling. If I could sum-up Bret's book with a perable it is the story of "The Fox and the Scorrpion". The entire time he's in the WWF Hart see's the way Vince treats people, Hogan, Savage, Jesse Ventura ect, but when he say let me ride on your back, Bret still lets him. I am also interested in reading the Lue Thez bio, and Dynamite Kid bio. I also have "Have a Nice Day" by Mic Foley, even though it's bublished by WWE. Mic seems to be pretty honest in it, about the Screw Job, I may have to give it another read, because I never did finnish it.

If the Undertaker ever writes a book, then we'll all know what the 100% truth is about the buisness. That will be the best selling wrestling book ever.

E & C
Rougeau Bros
Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith
Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart
Los Guerreros
AJ Styles & Chris Daniels
Lance Storm & Justin Credible

Come on man

You guys are forgetting one of the legendary teams

Iron Shiek and Nikoli Volkoff

What about Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff against Hulk Hogan and Mr. T

For my part the Brothers of Destruction are one of the greatest tag teams. But the best of all time DX. And if you're not down with that then I've only got two words for ya....suck it!

wow! What great memories just reading this tread!

Gotta add my 2 cents!

Besides the ones already listed (and I loved most of them)

Edge and Christian...they brought a fresh look at the time.
Tito Santana and Rick Martel
Any combination of the Von Erics
Tony Garea and anybody
The Acolytes
Ricky Steamboat and anybody!

And lets not forget the Moondogs! :upsidedow

What, no Baron Von Raschke and Jerry Blackwell?? lol

Actually Dirty Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis did some good work as did Dusty Rhodes and Magnum T.A. My vote for number one is still LOD though.

Here is my list

The best by far was

Arn Anderson/Tully Blanchard- made the NWA World Tag Team title the ultimate belts to shoot for

The Road Warriors- legendary team who literally striked fear against anyone

Hart Foundation

British Bulldogs

Demolition

Brothers of Destuction

Midnight Express

Rock 'n' Roll Express

New Age Outlaws

Tke Killer Bees

Another one...

America's Most Wanted. They were Only around for about 5 years, but held the NWA tage team titles (in TNA) about 7 times. Here is a video tribute to them featuring then Manager (and former WWE Women's Champ) Gail Kim.

The Road Warriors will always be my #1. They'd chop beef in there, man.

But there are a few who deserve honorable mention.

Back when the Road Warriors, The Midnight Express and the Rock 'n' Roll Express were the hottest stuff around, but all belonged to the same company, the other guys tried to copy them. Verne Gagne put together the Midnight Rockers (later the Rockers) while Vince McMahon had Demolition, the Road Warrior-knock-off team. Demolition was unique, though. They became so big they took on a life of their own, and at one point, it could be argued that they were as big as the Road Warriors.

They probably will deny it if you ask them, but Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels have one very big thing in common: they were really the first guys to prove that a tag-team wrestler could make a successful transition to singles wrestling. Up until then, there was a very clear line between singles guys and tag-teams.

I've never heard Bret knock HBK's talent. He's always called him a great performer. Thinking back, I think you are right about that tag team thing. Not to many guys have gotten past the IC/US titles to the big belts after being in a long term tag team.

The Outsiders

The New Age Outlaws

The Rock and Mankind (and whatever those 2 other personas were if they tagged with the Rock as well)

Sting and Lex Luger

The first two are asshole teams, the last two are good guy teams.
