In my opinion, the coolest damn thing ever to come out of megatokyo:

That's a unique art style, I like it. I've been looking for a manga to get into while I wait for new volumes to come out with the ones I'm on now. What's Megatokyo about?

Megatokyo is basically a story of these 2 American guys. 1 is an anime fanatic fanboy, and the other is a computer game fan, who believes that games are real. They both end up in Tokyo, with no money to get home, meet some girls, etc etc.
It starts off as the usual strip of 1 liners, but then gets a lot deeper. That picture is a combination of the drawing of Fred Gallagher (I think thats the right name?) from megatokyo, and the colouring of Hawk from www.applegeeks.com.

That sounds like a good one to me. By deeper, do you mean wierd things start happening, that it gets more serious or something else?
The girl in that drawing looks...how should I put it? Kind of reserved in an almost cold way. Still cute, though :happy:

Well the story changes darastically from te comicy beginnings. It develops a full story, and becomes serious for a little while. Its going on as a romantic comic at the minute.

Yeah, the girl in the picture is Miho Tohya-san. She's a school girl, gothy type, whos into playing computer games and such like. She's very cynical and manipulative, and Largo, the character who believes that computer games are real, thinks that she is the lord of evil and the leader of undead armies XD .

Note: this is possibly in part due to the fact she:
1) Killed him in a game where she did in fact play the dark lord figure by the end. A game she possibly caused to crash. Which is where she links in with the main characters.
2)There was a reference to that tome of Lovecraft flavourings, the Necronomicon, in the form of the Necrowombicon (or similar) which Largo found, after which Miho turns up.
Hence he is not as deranged as you think. Note the as.

It started out as a gaming-sque comic strip when there were two people doing it, but the illustrator Fred Gallagher pushed the other out and it moved into full-blown manga stylings, with less emphasis on the laughs (though these still turn up, mostly by way of Largo. But nothing beats the L33+ d00d in my opinion. Except maybe Ed. Maybe).

It show be noted Largo does not believe the games are real, he just doesn't always notice any boundaries between the two. What works ingame works in life...

But the first show that actually got me into anime, I didn't even know it was anime. I was too young at the time. Does anyone remember the show Star Blazers ? I grew up with that, but I don't know the real (read: japanese) name of it. I haven't see that one in forever.

But I wouldn't be introduced to anime until much later, in college, from a friend I made there. He introduced me to Ranma 1/2 and I've been kinda hooked to anime ever since. :happy:
