Why do you write?

This is a question for my fellow authors out there. Why do the authors here write?

Personally, it's a combination of things. When I decide to write, especially if it's a longer project, I tend to do it mainly for myself. I share it to contribute and share a bit of who I am with others.

many of my stories are fantasies of my own...so i voted a combination..i don't write to shock anyone..but some of the others yes...like for my own enjoyment, to contribute..etc..

Why I write?

If you ask me personally why I write tickle stories I guess my best answer is to just escape reality for a while.
And for me it means to get lost in an imaginary setting in being a tickleslave.
In real life however everyone travels alot in secret unknown and unwanted to everybody else and it can be a real drag.
So to lift my spirits. I write tickle torture stories of fantasy and longing in my desire to be a real tickleslave.

A combination of all. They are my fantasies, things I often think about. I usually have a premise of a fantasy and I sit down and write it out and post it. Then I usually have to go back and edit some spelling or grammar, lol.

I haven`t written any stories yet,but when I do it will be for a combination of reasons- to contribute to the community,for my own pleasure,and to provide TMFers insight to me.

I write because I'm good at it and people like my work

I write for several reasons, even though I acknowledge that many don't read my stories, and only one or two usually comment.
I write for my own enjoyment. My series of a baseball team into tickling combines my two most passionate interests, baseball, and tickling.
I write to escape reality. Sometimes it is nice to escape the pressure of life, by losing myself in fantasy, as a great baseball player, playing on a beautiful tropical island, for a team that wins championships, and to have a beautiful wife, and family, and have all the financial comforts.
I write because there is one forum member in particular, who loves my stories. I have become very good friends with him, and I enjoy providing him with new material to read, on a regular basis.
Those are the main reasons for my writings.

Writing has always been theraputic for me. The creative process takes over and I pour my soul into whatever I'm working on, and I always feel better for it. There was a time not so long ago when I was unable to create and I was not feeling good about it at all. But things have changed and I'm branching out into new mediums (collages, drawing, etc.) and I feel so much better for it.

I haven't written much fictional or fantasy material. In my vanilla interests I am doing historical and philosophical research contributing to a future set of print volumes with a friend and other researchers.

In kinky and tickly stuff, I have written a few brief bits for my own private "entertainment", as well as one or two tiny story bits for forums. A couple of longer tales I crafted with and for a special old submissive lady friend of ours many long years ago.

I haven't contributed any fiction here since most of my work doesn't involve tickling, but I do write so I suppose I can answer the question. 🙂


I write mainly for my own enjoyment. I love telling stories, its as simple as that. I follow Harlan Ellison's philosophy that "every day upon waking, tell a story, no matter how terrible it may be." Most of them I have tucked away in the back of the proverbial sock drawer but the few I have held onto I am proud of.

I also write to amuse others. I play D&D and I have written numerous short stories based within my homebrew campaign that my friends seem to enjoy. It puts a smile on my face knowing others enjoy my work. Call it a slight case of egomania if you like (I certainly do lol) but its the truth.

Most of the things I write about are fantasies of mine that I project onto paper (or computer) to kind of get out there and share with others. If it can't happen in real life, the next best thing is a story. 🙂
