I'm becoming more...and more...and more...and more... conservative. But, not 100% yet! 😛
Just a couple random thought that popped up when I was reading the new posts...
No individual, even the great and might Oz...er...president of the U.S.A. is going to make a national debt poof away by punching the time clock at 5:30 instead of 4:30. 😉 I dare say he's probably worked through a few lunches, gotten an early start or even had to answer a phone in the middle of the night with more on the other end than a drunk friend or a wrong number. Given everything a leader is supposed to do, I doubt anyone would ever be happy with the performance of ANY individual. And that's from someone who didn't voted for Bush. LOL
AS far as the typical "evil - insert Austin powers joke here* American view that we somehow have some right to self preservation...🙄...I'll never understand why people feel they know what it is to be an American if they aren't from here. HELL, most of us that ARE from here still struggle with it. I don't have such strong opinions on what it is to be German, British, French or what have you. I've talked to many people from other countries who tell me without reservation that being an American makes me stubborn and egotistical when it comes to matters of state. Last time I checked, that wasn't just an American trait. 😛 Point of fact, people tend to know more about their house than the neighbor does. It's not an insult, it just a matter of where you spend your time. I Also, don't think that tending to my house before I tend to the neighbor's should label me as bad. *shrug* I also don't think that asking the neighbors for a bucket of water when my house is burning is such a bad thing either.
Now onto the picket fences we put up around our gardens...
Yes, yes, in theory it's all very nice to say we should all just love each other and be one big happy family...one big country without borders that dictate who we are and what we're all about. **group hug** 😛
Unfortunately, some of us can't play by basic rules. *Saddam* Some of us tend to focus on the people who are all clustered on one land mass. Some of us are from an ancient country so we feel we're somehow more enlightened than our younger siblings. Some of us are pounding our self righteous chests that the greedy aren't doing things the way we like. It's not all about political lines though. It's about cultural differences. It's the geography that dictates lifestyle. It's the medical situations that youfind in one place and not another. It's the weather. It's the relgions. It's...it's...its...It like saying, why don't we all agree to be Hindu? 😉It's not a bad idea...but it just doesn't work for everyone.
If anyone here thinks politics is a nightmare now, can you imagine trying to make billions of people happy? You can't say that you'd be government-free. That wouldn't work. Then you'd have little Hitlers running amuck and starving babies that no one would take care of. *Yes, I know that is extreme, but you get the idea.*
Ah, well...maybe Utopia will come to pass one day, but in the meantime...Rah Rah America...it's my hometown. 😉
