Will prejudice, discrimination and other hatred centered attitudes ever go away?

There will always be those who are prejudiced or discriminate for one reason or another. The best we can hope for is that more and more people will realize how wrong it is and learn to tolerate if not embrace people different from themselves.

I would wish that too, but ...damn! Just look at the world. In Ethiopia, there's another major famine happening. But rather than ban together and fight it, they're busy fighting some damn war with their neighbor, Eritrea, which is making the famine many many times worse. What the HELL are the fighting for, their people are starving by the millions! This is just one sad example. All we can do is make sure WE are tolerant of others, and aren't in the gutter with the rest of the hate mongers and bigots and racists and control freaks who want power over others.

Mabus: You have the right attitude, but while many have it, few of them are in a position to help rid the world of prejudices and hate. Sad, really.

Thats what faith is for. Faith is stronger than hope alone. We judge how the world will react by what we've been brought up by and as the world presents itself. We think with the limitations of the human capacity. But things can change in a second if its so destined. While that likely will not happen so quickly, surely God can change it all just as easily as He created the universe and everything beside it.

I believe in a lot of that Damien. I don't subscribe to Christianity, but I believe in the power of spirit very strongly. I think humanity has a colelctive "mind" where all lessons and knowledge are stored. The more people who try to access it, whether consciously or othrwise, the easier it becomes for the rest of us to do it. Eventually the floodgates of human consciousness will burst and we'll have all the knowledge we require. IMO that is the second coming. What most people think of as the grace of Christ, I think of a certain level of human consciousness. An energy field created by positive and constructive thougths and emotions if you will. When the negative plebs are overun by positive thinkers, you'll be that much closer to heaven on Earth.
