My nephew's up there. He told my wife yesterday over AOL that his dorm's got seventy-seven inches of snow outside. He and his friends are sledding off the roof. Ah, careless youth.

I have relatives out that way as well. Some areas have over 10 feet. And there's another foot expected tonight. One report talked about people sliding boards through in the snowwbanks to create a tunnel as more snow came. It was the only way to get out since they couldn't throw the snow any higher.

And I thought we got clobbered a few years back when we got 5' in 48 hours. At least it stopped at that!

I guess the term 'lake effect snow' takes on a whole new context here.

we had snow up and down the UK on thursday - sadly it had gone by Friday - i love snow - i can't understand why the whole country came to a standstill though, ok it causes travel problems but the roads and paths are all gritted/salted - no exuse for so many people not to turn up at work/college.
