I've been rather measured about posting rants lately, but this is one that completely ticked me off.
This situation has been going on for some time. About two months ago, I got locked out of my yahoo e-mail account, because it jammed. The page would not load, and I could not get to my emails. This caused problems, because several important personal and business contacts had my yahoo email, as well as it being the contact email for other forums I belong to.
I contacted Yahoo to get steps to fix the problem. Finally, after talking to several people who seemed to not know what the hell they were talking about, I got one competent person who e-mailed me steps to unfreeze the box. The box was unfrozen, for a while. Then, last week, the box became frozen again. I tried the steps given to me by yahoo previously to unfreeze it, which did not work. Then, after contacting them again, and telling them the steps did not work, the idiots proceeded to do two blunders. First, they remailed me the same steps that were not working, and then, they proceeded to tell me to unhook my virus checker, to try and fix it myself. As anyone who has seen my posts in Feb 2008 knows, I had a serious adware virus then, that caused my computer to freeze, and made it necessary to spend $200 on a tech to get it fixed. My main concern is protecting my computer. My Avast virus checker was installed for me by the tech, who told me not to disable it, or I could get a virus. The only time I have to do anything with the virus checker, is if I do an update of it, or if it automatically updates. I'm not going to dislodge my virus checker to risk getting a virus, because of an email box freezing, and because yahoo is too stupid to figure out what is wrong. The latest email I got from them a few hrs ago is that they are going to try and "troubleshoot" to find the problem.
I can probably survive without the yahoo box, and communciate with friends, family, work people, and forums, on Comcast or hotmail. It just ticks me off to no end how the same thing keeps happening.
Anyhow, that's all. I dont know if this will get resolved.
