Some time ago I illegally posted a video that was copyrighted by Stryker Entertainment on Pornhub. While this video was removed per DMCA law, I failed to acknowledge the damages I had caused both the company and the model by doing so. I had no right to do so and the company was able to trace back the upload to my specific purchase of the video. I have settled with all parties involved and want to apologize to both the company and the model affected for my wrongdoing. For anyone who uploads or shares videos, don't, it's just not worth it!

I'd be careful about posting a thread like this, TMF users take this kind of stuff seriously and even thou you noted it happened in the past you may get a bunch of angry comments

Uploading a clip I've purchased is something I'd never do because of my ethics. I want producers to remain motivated producing good content and I like to retain the ability to download the clips I purchase.

Now I do consume uploaded videos though, so I'm not entirely innocent (even though I did spend thousands of dollars on videos and often rebuy a video I like because I want better resolution and support the production). At least you admit your wrong even though your remorse has come late (after Stryker blacklisted you). It's still a good thing you're coming clean.

Was the apology part of the settlement?

Anonymous apologies are about as useful as umbrellas in a hurricane. Most likely here only to stroke Stryker's ego.

I disagree. It's a public shaming. Let's be honest, most of the people pirating don't have deep pockets. Good luck getting financial compensation.
It's a tokenary discipline and a sharp wake-up call to the object of the exercise and to a lesser degree other pirates. It doesn't mean every person who
makes a public apology will go on the straight and narrow, but a lot do. if only to not get busted again and have a heavier hammer fall on them.

My thoughts exactly. While I can't pretend to relate to what producers go through and agree that illegally uploading is wrong, I feel like these forced public apologies (assuming that's what happened here) are rather vindictive and make me not want to purchase anything they produce.

Vindictive? What would you have the producer do? Just let the poor pirate go on his merry way with no responsibility for his actions? I find it amusing that you would entertain "punishing" a producer for having a pirate own his bad behavior. By that logic, we really need to dismantle the justice systems of the world. Punishment for crimes and misdemeanors is so "vindictive."

In order for there to be shame, the "public" would need to know who's being shamed. The only known party in this situation is Stryker. I wouldn't be surprised if he posted it himself; like spiking the ball in the end zone.

Holy shit, calm down. I literally said "While I can't pretend to relate to what producers go through and agree that illegally uploading is wrong..." So I have no idea what producers should do and I agree there should be repercussions for these illegal actions. I just happen to think this method, if in fact it's even being employed here, is rather ineffective. But hey, that's just my opinion and If there's data to disprove my theory, then I'll rethink my stance.

Additionally, I have no interest in "punishing" any producer. As a consumer, I have the right to not purchase any clip that doesn't interest me. I'm assuming that they'll do just fine without my business and I have no intention of encouraging others not to business with them. But I guess by your standard I'm "punishing" McDonald's because I stopped going there years ago in order to lower my cholesterol.

If this is how you react when you're "amused" I'd hate to see you when you're angry

You said it's vindictive, now you're saying it's ineffective. Two different things. It can be ineffective without being vindictive. You need to spend more time on the internet if you leapt to the conclusion that I'm angry. Calling you an assfuck is me being angry. I just pointed out the ludicrous position you took when you called it vindictive and suggested that you would feel inclined to consider not shopping with a producer who employed the tactic. If you don't mean the things you say, then don't say them. Say what you mean. And no, you are not punishing McDonalds, because they didn't do anything wrong. You chose to eat their unhealthy food and then you chose not to eat it. That is not punishment.

Oh I think it's both vindictive and ineffective, just to be clear. Though again, that's just my opinion.

And please don't call me an assfuck, that was uncalled for and childish.

I can't speak for Stryker, but when I caught people, I knew what their main account was on the TMF and I had them post to that. It didn't disclose their real life identity, but it exposed them to the temporary ridicule of the community they participated in. I felt that was enough. I'm not for disproportionate penalties.

Again, spend more time on the internet. I didn't call you an assfuck. It was an example. Pay attention. And now we get to the root of the matter. It's just your opinion and you're opinion is decided on feelings and not facts.

You did call me that, just own it.

And it is an opinion, something I have said all along. I've even said I'd reconsider my stance if some sort of data set provides further insight. But it's opinion that's weirdly gotten your panties all in a wad. But since you've resorted to name calling in a very passive aggressive manner, I'll just put you on ignore.

I think I'm a better judge of what I was saying than you are. Passive aggressive...gee I don't know...ask...oh anybody on here if I'm passive aggressive. Maybe that's the first thing you leapt to because that's your speed. Nice try sweetheart.

What exactly is an assfuck anyway? lol I think ignoring this one is smart. While I don't agree with your position that this sort of thing is vindictive ( I actually think Stryker is right to do this), he was way out of line by calling you that. You actually presented your side in a mostly reasonable fashion, and that sort of name calling is way over the top.

You could report him to the mods, but I'd just add him to ignore and go about your day. Doesn't seem worth it to me.

I actually think assfuck is a pretty creative insult, so credit where credit is due, though I don't think it applies to me....but I'm biased 😛

I respect your opinion and I appreciate you stating it in a more civil fashion. To me the reason it seems vindictive is that I'm assuming the producer has already made some sort of contact with the pirate and whatever they said to them, was probably compelling enough to make them stop. But again, I could be wrong.

Anyway, my statement was in no way intended to be a judgement of the producer's character or motive, I was just saying what it seemed like to me from an objective prospective.

I go with laughinggaszone on this one. His words were "me calling you an assfuck is me being angry." Nowhere else in that post did he say assfuck. You calling me a stupid a-hole would be a good indicator that you're angry with me, however as far as I know you have never done so. He was using an example, not flaming. In regards to the original post, I agree they shouldn't have posted the video and the public apology was a good call even if the user's name is "random."
